Book Spotlight Giveaway! The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

I have sooooo many books! The Book Spotlight Giveaway feature that I post every Saturday is a way for me to clear my shelves and to share some of the many books I have. This feature is a way for my to cull my collection and to give someone else the opportunity to enjoy these treasures. And sometimes, I find great books on Amazon that I just love to share with you, as well.

****************************

The Time Traveler's Wife is one of my all time favorite reads and it is one of only a few books that I have read more than once. And actually the first time I read it, when I finished it I immediately started over and read it again. Things and events became very clear to me the second time through.

I have discussed this story with a lot of different groups of people and it seems pretty clear that about 50% love it and the other 50% just couldn't get into it. I loved it and it will always have a special place on my bookshelves. I was able to snag a second copy, just so I could give it to one of you. I sure hope you are in the 50% who love it too.

Good luck and be sure to stop back next week!

The Time Traveler's Wife

The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
Paperback, 528 pages
Published 2003 by MacAdam/Cage

The Time Traveler's Wife is the story of Clare, a beautiful art student, and Henry, an adventuresome librarian, who have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was thirty-six, and were married when Clare was twenty-three and Henry thirty-one. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity in his life, past and future. His disappearances are spontaneous, his experiences unpredictable, alternately harrowing and amusing.

The Time Traveler's Wife depicts the effects of time travel on Henry and Clare's marriage and their passionate love for each other as the story unfolds from both points of view. Clare and Henry attempt to live normal lives, pursuing familiar goals--steady jobs, good friends, children of their own. All of this is threatened by something they can neither prevent nor control, making their story intensely moving and entirely unforgettable.
