Deadly Fun

Deadly Fun
by Pam Richter

To everyone aboard the luxury cruise ship, Dan and Linda Duncan are the perfect couple; married, gorgeous, and in love. But Lo is actually working in disguise and undercover, with an assumed identity. She routinely uses her unusual beauty to seek out information for an independent detective agency associated with the FBI. Her boss understands she has a checkered past, with time spent in prison, but she's also smart, and has a law degree.

During this investigation of a deadly enforcer for the Mob, they discover murderous ties to Linda’s own family. By the end of the voyage she has chased suspects through the tropical islands, been in physical confrontations with knife, fist and firearms; the deck is awash in blood.
Can she survive the deadly fun cruise—and her boss—who may prove more deadly than the Mafia men she uncovers?

Praise from Amazon Reviewers

A fun read, yes. Darkness, danger, and death lurk within the labyrinth of corridors, passageways, and public attractions spread throughout the upper and lower decks of a large cruise ship.

Exciting, page turning! Passengers with hidden identities and agenda. Mafia mayhem. A little romance and a lot of action. Pamela Richter keeps you wanting more.

Deadly Fun was a fabulous book. I loved how the characters were so easy to fall in love with. I felt like I was reading a wonderful spy adventure that took place on a cruise ship. Who says it is against the rules to fall in love with a co-worker. Lo and Lance fight their feelings for one another over the course of this book.

Excerpt

Lo was crying, her hands over her face.  “Do you know what they did to him?”

Torture would be a nice word in comparison, Dan thought.  He knew exactly what they had done to her husband.  He couldn’t stand seeing her pain and moved over to sit on the bed beside her.  He put his arms around her and pressed her head to his shoulder.  He could feel her tears through his shirt.

“I can’t seem to get over it,” she said, her voice muffled against his shoulder.

“No one could, Lolita.  No one could.”  He rocked her in his arms as the waves rocked the ship and let her cry.  Hell, he could feel tears in his own eyes.

“He was so wonderful,” Lo said.  “And then I found out I was pregnant, when I was in jail.  I thought I would have a little part of him, still.  But I lost the baby.”

"Dina Silver's deftly woven tale has all of my favorite fictional elements: romance, action and adventure, and a knock-your-socks-off ending. The Unimaginable is simply superb." ~ Tracey Garvis Graves, New York Times bestselling author of On the Island.
SYNOPSIS:

From the author of One Pink Line comes a story about letting go of the past and finding bravery in the depths of fear. Set on the sun-soaked beaches of Thailand and the rough waters of the Indian Ocean, The Unimaginable paints a vivid portrait of a young woman on a journey to find herself—and her harrowing fight for survival.

After twenty-eight years of playing by the rules, Jessica Gregory moves from her small Indiana town to Phuket, Thailand. But her newfound routine is upended with the arrival of Grant Flynn, a captivating, elusive man who is sailing around the world while trying to move on from a past tragedy. Jessica volunteers to help crew Grant’s boat, Imagine, on a passage across the Indian Ocean and finds herself falling in love with him as the voyage gets underway. But when disaster strikes, Jessica must summon her courage as the crew is confronted by unspeakable terrors––and, aboard a boat named for such promise, comes the unimaginable.

Excerpt:

His hand and fingers were slowly caressing my right arm just above the elbow, and every time he paused my heart would skip a beat. I swallowed the lump in my throat and tried to muster the strength to lift my head and look him in the eyes. I wanted to know that things were good between us and there were no hard feelings. His eyes would give me the answers. The eyes always say more than the mouth.

I shifted my body toward him ever so slightly, curling myself even further into his embrace. He tightened his grip on me and then continued to move his hand up and down, rubbing away the chills. I closed my eyes, counted to ten, then opened them and lifted my chin. He immediately looked down at me, stopped moving his hand, and squeezed hard, forcing the tips of his fingers into my arm. I froze. He studied my eyes and then looked away, loosening his grip.

My breathing intensified as I brought my hand to his cheek, brushing my thumb across his stubble and turning his face back to mine. He shifted his body, threaded his fingers through my hair, and rested them at the base of my neck. Just as I inhaled, he bent down and pressed his lips to mine. First, hard and firm, then soft and exploratory as he parted my lips with his tongue. My head went back, and my body fell forward into his arms as his hands tugged at my hair and the back of my shirt.

“Are you sure you want to do this?” I whispered.

“Yes,” he said without a second thought.

He was lifting my legs up onto the bench under the weight of his body when we heard someone cough.

Perception by Lee Strauss and the Trailer

Perception

Perception by Lee Strauss
Book 1 in The Perception Series
Paperback and e-book, 308 pages
Published October 20th 2013
CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform

Eternal Life is To Die For.

Seventeen year old Zoe Vanderveen is a GAP—a genetically altered person. She lives in the security of a walled city on prime water-front property along-side other equally beautiful people with extended life spans.

Her brother Liam is missing.

Noah Brody is a natural who lives on the outside. He leads protests against the GAPs and detests the widening chasm they've created between those who have and those who don’t. He doesn't like girls like Zoe and he has good reason not to like her specifically.

Zoe’s carefree life takes a traumatic turn. She’s in trouble and it turns out that Noah, the last guy on earth she should trust, is the only one who can help her.

Perception is a (SF/mystery/romance) Young Adult novel that takes place in the not-too-distant future in a world changed by climate extremes, natural disasters and impending wars, and where scientific breakthroughs cause class divisions—both financially and philosophically. It explores the clash between faith and science and how differences can separate us as enemies or ally us together. And in some cases, even in the midst of betrayal and personal crisis, there’s room to fall in love.

This is the first book in a series.

Perception is book #1 in The Perception Series
and you can get it for free!

Perception is also one of the books in the Girls on Fire boxed set that is on sale right now for only $.99. You get 10 great stories by 10 amazing authors!

My thoughts about Perception ~~

This series has been on my radar for some time now (I just love the covers) and have been meaning to read them. But you know how that is - so many books, so little time. Well, this series and the author came to my attention again after the Girls on Fire boxed set was released. I figured this was a great time to get this one read.

I know that the dystopian genre is huge right now and I suppose I have read a few. When I started Perception, I felt very comfortable in the world of Zoe, Liam, and Noah. I love how an author's imagination can visualize what the world could possibly be like in the future. And it's amazing to think about how close their imagination might be to the truth.
'I spoke Jackson's name into the dashboard computer. My pod car followed the magnetic grid through the city - down wide boulevards lined with palm trees and artificial energy capturing "trees" that looked more like over-sized kitchen utensils - miraculously skirting pedestrian and a maze of other electro magnetic vehicles.'
I immediately loved Zoe and her independence. And I loved how she just never gave up trying to find out what happened to her brother. What an amazing woman she is! And you just have to love Noah, such a nice guy with strong beliefs and values and who is always trying to do the right thing. What a pair they make.
'"Yes, I believe you have a soul." It meant so much to hear him say it. Never in my life had I doubted myself, my reason for being, my right to exist. Now everything was in question.'
I loved Perception and I am looking forward to read all the rest of the series. And I love it when I can just go right into the next book. That's one good reason for waiting to start a series. Volition here I come!

But for all this futurist thinking and imagining, some things never change.
'"I don't know," I said. "You can't trust everything you read on the Internet."'
