Oh my gosh!
How did it get to be 2015 already?
The year 2014 just flew by but so much happened in my life this past year.
Here is how my year went. Hubby took an early retirement in the spring. We sold our house to our daughter and her hubby-to-be in April. With 4 kiddos combined, they needed to up-size. We bought and moved into a townhome. We were looking to downsize so it was a win-win situation! My husband and his siblings moved his parents into an assisted living apartment during the summer and spent many weekends going through their 60+ years of stuff. My youngest son and his fiance blessed us with a new grandson in June. In 2013 we had 3 grandchildren. In 2014, with a birth and blended families, we acquired 1 more biological and 3 'bonus' grandkiddos. That's growing from 3 to 7 in a years time. Whew! But I love every bit of being a Nama! One of my daughters rode in RAGBRAI in July and I was their support vehicle for the week. In September, hubby and I went on our dream of a life-time week long cruise to Alaska. The aforementioned daughter got married in October. And then came the holidays. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, started rolling around and we have been busy with all of that. And I read 109 books in 2014!
Maybe 2015 will be a little more relaxed for us, but I doubt it!
And now, what is my New Year's Resolution, you ask? A lot of people say they are going to exercise more, eat less, drink less, etc. I may do all that but you don't really need/want to hear all about that part of my personal life. So here it is!
I resolve, here at The Book Bag, to bring back
my weekly (hopefully) Book Spotlights!
As you read above, this past year has been super crazy and with moving and packing and unpacking, my books were a mess. I now have things more organized and am able to see my books. During the move, I was able to weed out some of the books I don't want, either because I have them on my Kindle too or maybe they just aren't what I want to read right now.
So anyway, I have a stack of books that I have lined up to give away! My Book Spotlights will be making a comeback starting this Saturday, January 3rd and will hopefully be posted every Saturday morning. I'm apologize that the Spotlight Giveaways have to be US only because of the cost of mailing physical books but I will still be particpating in various hops throughout the year and those will be international, so never fear!
Thanks for being here!
2015 is going to be a good year for all of us!!
