Lux’s cheeks dusted pink. With her red hair and fair skin, she should have flushed bright red, but only this sprinkling of pink appeared, like she’d been dusted with pink powdered sugar. Why did this woman bring to mind sweet things like powdered sugar and chocolate and kisses at sunset? He gave his head a mighty shake. “You fell in the water.”

“I know.” At least, he thought he knew. Everything had happened so fast. He’d fallen asleep and woken up when the ice cracked. He plopped his feet to the floor only to have them land in several inches of water. His stove had tipped over and the hot metal had melted clear through the ice. There must have been a crack in the ice nearby. “We pulled you out.”

“We?” Quik adjusted the blankets over his arms. He could only imagine Lux and Ginger and Frost tearing his clothes off. Lux made to adjust her glasses, but they weren’t there. She looked around like they’d fallen off and she didn’t know how. So he wasn’t the only one thrown off by all this. Quik’s eyes traveled lower to find her bare shoulders and her skintight tank top. He jerked his eyes back up to her face, hoping she hadn’t caught his wandering eye.

“Me and Dunder.” She chewed her lip. “My reindeer.”

“Of course.” The situation was going up in weirdness. Having used up all his ability to care about propriety, Quik leaned back against the seat. He was in the bottom of a fancy velvet-lined sled. Yep. Weird. His eyes dropped shut. “You cut my pants?” he asked.

“I’ll get you new ones,” offered Lux.

“Did you cut my shirt too?”

“No!” She was offended. That was kind of cute.

“Too bad. I needed a new shirt.” He half smiled.

Kindle Edition, 647 pages
Published: March 1st 2016 by Pepin Publishing Company

Spring is in the air and so is romance in the small town of Snow Valley, Montana.

My thoughts about Spring in Snow Valley ~~

Okay, so far I have spent Summer in Snow Valley and Christmas in Snow Valley. And I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every trip I have taken there. I was so excited when I found out that this book was out and that I could once again enjoy stories by the wonderful authors who are a part of the Snow Valley anthologies.

First of all, I love each story individually and each author does a superb job of writing great characters in a way that made me care about them. But they also intertwine the stories in such a way that the reader finds some of the same characters popping into the other stories. It truly feels like you become part of the community.

I loved visiting Snow Valley in the spring and I can't wait for my next visit!

When she travels to Snow Valley to help her aunt recover from knee surgery, Ivy finds herself falling for Kellen Thomas, an irresistible cowboy she should avoid. Running from the Cowboy
by Cami Checketts

Missy Horman escaped an abusive marriage and returns to Snow Valley to help her father deal with her emotionally disturbed mother. Volunteering to teach a youth Sunday school class seems like a good way to get out of her comfort zone—until she ends up kissing Porter Wilson in front of a bunch of teenagers. Embarrassed, and secretly thrilled, by the kiss, she writes Porter off as a playboy. But, Missy wasn't the only one affected and Porter's new mission in life is to prove that there's more to him than flirting and world-tilting kisses. He wants to show her that a true cowboy knows how to treat a lady and, if Missy can't keep her wits about her, she might just let him.

On sale for only $.99 - November 3 - 7

My thoughts about Christmas Kisses ~~

I love when the Christmas books start coming out. And this one is a great way to start the season. The stories in Christmas Kisses all take place in Echo Ridge, a nice little community in New York. Each one of the five stories focuses on different main characters but they are all intertwined so we learn a lot about the people and the community.

I loved the way the stories all take place around the same time and pretty much the same place. The main connection for all the characters is the local department store. Reading the different stories by these five great authors gives the reader different perspectives of that time and place and we learn so much about that town and these wonderful people. This is book #1 so I am excited that there will be a chance to revisit Echo Ridge sometime in the future.

Cami Checketts is a must-read author for me and I was excited to see that she had one of the stories in this anthology. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of them and I now have more authors to watch.

Read below for the synopsis of each story. Grab Christmas Kisses for only $.99. Then pour yourself some hot cocoa, grab a blanket, and enjoy a taste of Christmas!

Amazon bestselling author

Chelsea Jamison has been infatuated with Drew Stirling longer than she's loved playing basketball, high-top sneakers, and the Knicks. Drew makes an unexpected visit home to Echo Ridge and their friendship picks up where they left off as they scheme to make a teenaged boy's Christmas dreams come true. Amazon bestselling & award-winning author

Carlos is no stranger to hard times and slowly shares his life of light and joy with Anika as they work together. Just as her fragile soul begins to feel hope again, an ill-timed act of charity changes everything. Five intriguing romances wrapped in love and magic

Reality Ever After by Cami Checketts

Pregnant at eighteen, Sydney Richland's happily ever after is in serious peril. Her grandmother's ghost can work miracles, but she also might ruin Sydney's chances with the man of her dreams.

Angel in a Black Fedora by Sherry Gammon

Ciel Björk died a tragic death...but she got over it. Now she works as an undercover angel, answering people's prayers. She's sent to the sleepy little town of Port Fare, New York to help turn Chloe's dreams into a reality. As secrets are revealed, Ciel soon learns that things are not as simple as they seem.
A Wish in Her Hand by Amberlee Day

Professor Miri Keeler's life is perfect, and she knows just the sort of man she wants to share it with. When she meets a genie who's willing to grant her a favor, she uses her wish to get the attention of her crush, poet Jamison Arbor. But has the genie's magic missed its target? Miri suddenly has the attention of not only Jamison, but also of Alex, an attractive maintenance man. How will she know which is the right match for her, or what's real and what's magic?

Prom Diaries by Taylor Hart

Sixteen-year-old Lacy O'Donnell discovers her best friend has cast a spell, putting everyone in a time loop, forcing them to relive the same four days before prom over and over. The good thing--Lacy doesn't remember the loop. The bad thing--Drake Davis, the guy she's been stalking, does. Only true love's kiss can break the spell, but true love's kiss has to happen at a precise moment. It's not exact science...it's exact magic.

The What If Wish by Lucy McConnell

Morana is doomed to a life cataloging spells deep below the palace unless she can make her magic bloom. If her deepest wish comes true, it would open up all sorts of possibilities. The whispers that she was a fluke of nature would hush. The King would stop stalking her. Her parents would no longer live under a cloud of shame. And, Adam could look at her as more than a friend. Despite the promises magic holds, Morana will quickly learn that the thing she wishes for most, could quickly be her undoing.

My thoughts about Of Love & Magic ~~

When I saw that Cami Checketts had a story included in this set, I knew I had to read it. I just love her stories. So, she is the author who drew me to this book, but I am loving all of the stories. As you are reading, I have finished three of the stories so far and I will be reading the other two later today. Like I said, perfect reading for today.

Reality Ever After by Cami Checketts is as wonderful as her other books. Sydney finds herself at 18, pregnant and unmarried. She knows who she wants to spend the rest of her life with, who she wants to be her 'happily ever after'. But is that her reality? With the help of her Grandma, she gets what she deserves, but it isn't easy. There is a part in this book where it gets pretty emotional and tears were shed. I was so wrapped up in the story that I had tears too. I love when that happens. And the grandma? Well, she works her magic.
'Granny's ghost had been one of the constants in her life, and it wasn't the first time she suspected that her grandmother could make things happen.'
The What If Wish by Lucy McConnell was fun to read. This is a great story about a fairy who hasn't developed into a 'normal' fairy. She feels like she is a fluke and that she will bring shame upon her family. This story gets pretty intense as she figures out exactly what her fairy powers are. The way this story ended left me thinking that there really could be further adventures for these characters. Who know's? Maybe there will be. And, just so you know, I believe in fairies.
"I heard some humans can sense fairies," whispered Neffi. Her eyes were so big she reminded me of a grasshopper. "They still hold a little of that light, you know, the light they need to believe in things."
Angel in a Black Fedora by Sherry Gammon. I love angels and I love thinking about the possiblity of angels coming into our lives to guide us and teach us. Ciel is an angel with pink wings (they are pink because it's her favorite color) who's assignment is to answer a prayer. She teaches everyone a lot about love and life along the way as well.
'You can't base your self-worth on someone else, and you especially can't base it on whether or not someone likes you.'
Each of these stories are full of love and magic. What fun! I like to think that I am a believer of fairies, angels, and other magical things. This was a perfect set of stories to fill my head with all those wonderful things and feelings.
