This is The Book Bag's 1000th post!!!
I started this little ol' blog back in 2009 as a work project. When that project was completed, I was wondering what I could do this blog thingy that I had created. Well, I decided to use it as a way to keep track of the books I read and I'd add a little note about what I thought about each book. I really didn't think anyone would ever look at my posts and I had no idea it would become what it is today. Over these last 5 years, I have read some great books and have met some amazing authors.
As this post goes live on Sunday, hubby and I are just starting our week long Alaskan cruise. Taking a cruise has been one of the things on my bucket list and it is finally happening! I am super excited!! I have not ever heard anyone say anything negative about their experiences in Alaska. I just know it is going to be awesome!
I had great plans to make this 1000th post the biggest and best giveaway EVER! But alas, life got in the way and I ran out of time to get it organized like I wanted. I have 24 awesome authors who have contributed over 50 items for my 1000th post giveaway. Thank you all so very much!!
I didn't want to throw that giveaway post together just to get it up. I want to make it the best post and the best giveaway ever. So, you're just going to have to wait until we get back so I can do it up right. We are not going to have Wi-Fi on the ship. (yikes!) But believe me, it will totally be worth the wait!

That being said, I do want to celebrate my 1000th post milestone today by holding my own personal giveaway here while I am away. I'll keep this giveaway up while I'm gone. And then, you need to make sure to watch for the huge giveaway after I get my land legs back.

That's so fun!!!! Yeah I have a bucket list. One thing on it is to backpack across the UK. I want to do that so badly, but have yet to do so.

ReplyDeleteI have a few things in my bucket list..a cruise is definitely one of them. Haven't had the finances or the opportunity to cross off much!!! Have a great cruise and hopefully take loads of pictures to share with those of us who haven't had the pleasure yet!!!

ReplyDeleteMy bucket list mostly consists of things I would only be able to do if I won the lottery! It started to get me down after a while that I'd never visit all of those far off countries. In place of all those impossible things, I've created a 'Backwards Bucket List' of all the things that I HAVE done in my life and it's all just little things in my home state but it helps me see a bigger picture of my life instead of just what I haven't done.
Two things I HAVE crossed off my bucketlist this year are canoeing for the first time and becoming pregnant/starting a family! Having a (upcoming) child has led me to create a whole new bucketlist!

To answer your question, I don't really have an official bucket list, but I really want to read all the books in my TBR pile and I would really love to be a successful research scientist.

I do have a bucket list. More like a dream list. My dad & I always wanted to go and see a space shuttle launch. We sadly never got to do that. He passed away two years ago.
