Weekend on Sullivan's Island by Ashley Farley
Family Life Fiction, 263 pages
Published August 8, 2023 by AHF Publishing
An emotional rollercoaster of a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end!
Annie has fallen hard for the handsome and charming Tyler, but their relationship is far from easy. Tyler's disapproving parents and judgmental friends make Annie feel like an outsider, and she's willing to do whatever it takes to keep Tyler by her side, even if it means sacrificing her successful catering career. Will she be able to hold onto her dream man, or will love come at too high a cost?
When Cooper sees Annie at his inaugural gallery opening, he knows he must seize the opportunity to win her heart back. But there's just one problem—Annie's current boyfriend is a total jerk who won't make it easy for Cooper.
Brooke’s high school best friend, Grady, has moved back to town. As they spend more time together, their bond deepens, and Brooke finds herself falling in love with him. But she’s keeping a secret from him—she’s carrying another woman’s baby. Will Grady be able to accept Brooke and her unexpected situation, or will their love be torn apart by this shocking revelation?
A weekend house party on Sullivan’s Island promises hope for the budding romances. But when they all arrive, things take a dramatic turn for the worse. Secrets are revealed, tensions rise, and it seems like everything that can go wrong, does. Will these young lovers be able to salvage their relationships, or will the weekend end in heartbreak and betrayal?
My thoughts about Weekend on Sullivan's Island ~~
(I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first lines.)
First lines—"Cooper spotted her in the crowd of art enthusiasts at his inaugural gallery opening. He monitored her as he spoke with his other guests."
I think I've read every one of Ashley's books and I have loved them all! I love her characters, her settings, and the love and drama that comes with each story.
Weekend on Sullivan's Island was another wonderful escape from my real world and I enjoyed every minute of it. There were some people I fell in love with and some people I just loved to hate. Why do people have to be so mean?
I always devour Ashley's stories and then get sad when it's over. The characters and the storylines stay with me because they all come to feel like friends and I care about what happens to them. I always get super excited for her next book!
Weekend on Sullivan's Island is the perfect summery beach read right now. I mean, with a cover like this one, how can it not be? You will love the story inside the cover just as much as I did. It's very character driven with just the right amount of love and affection but with enough drama to keep it exciting and page-turning. Check it out and enjoy!
I received a copy of Weekend on Sullivan's Island from the author and this is my honest opinion.
