Free Souls is the third novel in the Mindjack Saga, a young adult science fiction series. There are three novels in the original trilogy, five novellas that accompany the series, and plans for another trilogy in the works (see Susan’s latest novella, The Locksmith, for a peek at a new Mindjack character for the coming trilogy – or better yet, subscribe to her newsletter, and get The Locksmith for free!).

The Locksmith is a standalone novella that can be read independently of the trilogy and novellas.

My thoughts about Free Souls ~~

(I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first lines.)

First line—"Julian's whispered words drifted past my ears and disturbed the dead quiet of the street, still hushed by the early morning hour. 'You don't have to do this, Kira.'"

I have fallen in love with every single book that this author has written! And I especially love her Mindjack series. I have been hooked on this series from book #1, Open Minds.

I have loved following Kira throughout this series, from the beginning when she finds out that she has special mind powers and as she learns what that means to her, to her family, and to the world. She develops those powers and becomes an amazingly strong force in the jacker world. Free Souls is an exciting ride for Kira, and the reader.

Book #4 is coming soon and I can't wait to continue with this awesome series!

About the author 

Susan Kaye Quinn is a rocket scientist turned speculative fiction author who now uses her PhD to invent cool stuff in books. Her works range from young adult science fiction to adult future-noir, with side trips into steampunk and middle grade fantasy. Her bestselling novels and short stories have been optioned for Virtual Reality, translated into German, and featured in several anthologies.
