Book Spotlight Giveaway! The Beekeeper's Ball by Susan Wiggs

I have sooooo many books! The Book Spotlight Giveaway feature that I post every Saturday is a way for me to clear my shelves and to share some of the many books I have. This feature is a way for my to cull my collection and to give someone else the opportunity to enjoy these treasures.

****************************

The book I have today is book #2 is this great series. I listened to book #1 and then my book group decided to read this one. One of the book club members is the office manager at a local honey bee farm here in South Dakota so she enjoyed this book immensely. It is a great series and I hope the author writes more. I would love to go back there.

Good luck and be sure to stop back next week!

The Beekeeper's Ball

The Beekeeper's Ball by Susan Wiggs
Series: Bella Vista Chronicles #2
Paperback, 400 pages
Published May 31st 2016 by Mira

#1 New York Times bestselling author Susan Wiggs returns to sun-drenched Bella Vista, where the land's bounty yields a rich harvest…and family secrets that have long been buried

Isabel Johansen, a celebrated chef who grew up in the enchanting Sonoma town of Archangel, is transforming her childhood home into a destination cooking school—a unique place for other dreamers to come and learn the culinary arts. Bella Vista's rambling mission-style hacienda, with its working apple orchards, bountiful gardens and beehives, is the idyllic venue for Isabel's project…and the perfect place for her to forget the past.

But Isabel's carefully ordered plans begin to go awry when swaggering, war-torn journalist Cormac O'Neill arrives to dig up old history. He's always been better at exposing the lives of others than showing his own closely guarded heart, but the pleasures of small-town life and the searing sensuality of Isabel's kitchen coax him into revealing a few truths of his own.

About the author

Susan Wiggs

Susan Wiggs's life is all about family, friends...and fiction. She lives at the water's edge on an island in Puget Sound, and she commutes to her writers' group in a 17-foot motorboat. She serves as author liaison for Field's End, a literary community on Bainbridge Island, Washington, bringing inspiration and instruction from the world's top authors to her seaside community. (See www.fieldsend.org) She's been featured in the national media, including NPR's "Talk of the Nation," and is a popular speaker locally and nationally.

According to Publishers Weekly, Wiggs writes with "refreshingly honest emotion," and the Salem Statesman Journal adds that she is "one of our best observers of stories of the heart [who] knows how to capture emotion on virtually every page of every book." Booklist characterizes her books as "real and true and unforgettable." She is the recipient of three RITA (sm) awards and four starred reviews from Publishers Weekly for her books. The Winter Lodge and Passing Through Paradise have appeared on PW’s annual "Best Of" lists. Several of her books have been listed as top Booksense picks and optioned as feature films. Her novels have been translated into more than two dozen languages and have made national bestseller lists, including the USA Today, Washington Post and New York Times lists.

The author is a former teacher, a Harvard graduate, an avid hiker, an amateur photographer, a good skier and terrible golfer, yet her favorite form of exercise is curling up with a good book. It's Monday! What Are You Reading? August 22, 2016

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's an opportunity to visit other blogs and to comment on their reads. And ... you can add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

We have had some beautiful weather lately and I spent most of Sunday morning sitting on the patio, reading. It was heavenly and so relaxing. Saturday was filled with family events and made for a long day and no reading time so it was nice to have that time Sunday morning. I hope you have a great week and are able to enjoy some nice weather, wherever you are. Happy reading!

I cannot believe that August is half over. Where did our summer go? School for the university starts in another week and the grand-kiddos go back a couple of days later. Yikes!! Weeks, months, and years are just flying by!

In the meantime, I have some time between book review commitments so thought I would fit in a couple of books that have been on my TBR list for awhile ~ Missing Pieces and Eleanor & Park. I love when that happens! I may be able to sneak in another one or two. Yay!
