Book Spotlight Giveaway! An Ex to Grind in Deadwood by Ann Charles

I have sooooo many books! The Book Spotlight Giveaway feature that I post every Saturday is a way for me to clear my shelves and to share some of the many books I have. This feature is a way for my to cull my collection and to give someone else the opportunity to enjoy these treasures. And sometimes, I find great books on Amazon that I just love to share with you.

****************************

This week I have a Kindle copy of book #5 in the wonderful Deadwood series by Ann Charles. I love this series and the wonderful, quirky characters in it. I also love Ann Charles and her wonderful, quirky sense of humor. I met Ann several years at the SD Book Festival. My daughter and I bonded over their love of purple and I have been a huge fan ever since then. She has several series out but this is the only one I have read, so far. I have the other ones on my TBR list and I know I will love them too.

Good luck and be sure to stop back next week!

An Ex to Grind in Deadwood

An Ex to Grind in Deadwood by Ann Charles
Series: Deadwood Humorous Mystery Book #5
Kindle e-book, Paperback, 415 pages
Published by Ann Charles (August 28, 2014)

Something has gone foul in the Black Hills … something gravely unnatural. Leave it to Violet Parker to stumble into the middle of it.

A creepy phone call. A dead body. Two meddling detectives. A glut of trouble-making ex-partners. Can things get any worse?

Violet swears to keep her nose out of police business this time. But when her son is linked to the victim, she returns to the scene of the crime. More than just a mystery to solve, now her son might be in mortal danger.

Check out the whole Deadwood series HERE

About the author

Ann lives in the beautiful Northern Arizona mountains with her clever husband, charming kids, and an incredibly sassy cat. After many years and several colleges, she managed to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in English with an emphasis on creative writing from the University of Washington.

Her books are mixed-genre mysteries full of mayhem and fun, romance and comedy, and whatever else feels right. Sisters in Crime was kind enough to let her join their membership years ago. In addition, she’s been a member of Romance Writers of America for so many moons that she’s lost count.

Ann has written a bunch of contemporary, award-winning novels in multiple series full of quirky characters with whom she loves to spend time as much as reality allows. Right now, while you’re reading this, she’s probably frolicking around in another story.

While her reading preferences range from adventure to horror to mystery, ever since she tried on her first training bra, she has loved a good mix of romance, too.

When she’s not dabbling in fiction, she’s penning writing-themed articles or standing on her workshop soapbox, sharing what she has learned over the years about the writing craft and self-promotion.

If you have any specific questions for Ann, or just feel chatty, don’t hesitate to drop an email at reader@anncharles.com. She loves getting mail!

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? September 5, 2016

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's an opportunity to visit other blogs and to comment on their reads. And ... you can add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

Another busy week and weekend for me. I took a road trip to see my sister this past weekend and that is 5 hours in the car, one way, so I got some great listening time in. I finished the audiobook I had been listening to and indulged in an audiobook of one of my favorite authors. I was able to get that one completed on my trip home.

Monday is a holiday for me and I am hoping to get some overdue reviews written on my day off. I am really behind on those and I feel really bad about that.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great week. Happy reading!

Another very busy week at work and at home. University classes started last week and the library where I work got super busy. It is so wonderful that the students find the library a necessary place to be.

The weekend was filled with family again; grandson sleepover on Friday night and Papa taught him how to ride his bike, daughter sleepover on Saturday and Sunday (she had surgery a month ago so it was nice to spend some time with her as she recuperates), family fun and a firepit on Saturday, and then a granddaughter's birthday party on Sunday. Whew!

And I have a road trip planned for next weekend to see my sister and I am most excited about having some long stretches of car time to get in some audio book listening. Oh, and seeing her too. Ha! Have a great week and  happy reading!

We have had some beautiful weather lately and I spent most of Sunday morning sitting on the patio, reading. It was heavenly and so relaxing. Saturday was filled with family events and made for a long day and no reading time so it was nice to have that time Sunday morning. I hope you have a great week and are able to enjoy some nice weather, wherever you are. Happy reading!

I cannot believe that August is half over. Where did our summer go? School for the university starts in another week and the grand-kiddos go back a couple of days later. Yikes!! Weeks, months, and years are just flying by!

In the meantime, I have some time between book review commitments so thought I would fit in a couple of books that have been on my TBR list for awhile ~ Missing Pieces and Eleanor & Park. I love when that happens! I may be able to sneak in another one or two. Yay!

I didn't get as much read this week as I had hoped to. My daughter had surgery on Tuesday and I spent 3 days with her. We had big plans to lay around and read but it just didn't happen. Hubby is going to be gone for a few days this upcoming week so that should get me some quality reading time, I hope. I hope you have a great week and happy reading everyone!

We had a wonderful week in The Black Hills last week. We had a great time but weren't expecting the nights to be so cold, not so good when in a tent. Oh well. It was nice to just get away and relax. I got some great reading time in and enjoyed the beautiful area.

I'm not going to bore you with a ton of vacation pictures but here are just a few to show you the beauty I was surrounded by last week.

The view from our campsite.

My reading buddies one day.

Ominous looking but beautiful clouds.

My home for a week.
