It's Monday! What Are You Reading? September 22, 2025 #IMWAYR

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's an opportunity to visit other blogs and to comment on their reads. And ... you can add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you all have a good week.
Happy reading!

I got several shorter books read this week so that really upped my 'books read' number. And the Christmas books are starting to show up. I love when that time in my reading life comes around. We also enjoyed another weekend of football watching, spending time with our son and grandson.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you all have a good week.

After reading a lot in August for a challenge, this month's reading is dragging drag for me. Granted there is a lot going on our lives right now—medical appointments (with more to come), family time, and of course football season starting up again! Go Huskers! Go Chiefs! Go SDSU!

Hubs and I are celebrating our 52nd anniversary today! What a roller coaster ride our lives have been. We've got 4 kids, 3 significant others, and 9 grandkiddos to show for our longevity. I had no idea that this would be my family when I said 'I do' all those years ago! 💖💖

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you all have a good week.

The Storyteller

The Storyteller by Antonia Michaelis
ARC, 402 pages
Published January 2012 by Amulet Books

Anna and Abel couldn’t be more different. They are both seventeen and in their last year of school, but while Anna lives in a nice old town house and comes from a well-to-do family, Abel, the school drug dealer, lives in a big, prisonlike tower block at the edge of town. Anna is afraid of him until she realizes that he is caring for his six-year-old sister on his own.

Fascinated, Anna follows the two and listens as Abel tells little Micha the story of a tiny queen assailed by dark forces. It’s a beautiful fairy tale that Anna comes to see has a basis in reality. Abel is in real danger of losing Micha to their abusive father and to his own inability to make ends meet. Anna gradually falls in love with Abel, but when his “enemies” begin to turn up dead, she fears she has fallen for a murderer. Has she?

Award-winning author Antonia Michaelis moves in a bold new direction with her latest novel: a dark, haunting, contemporary story that is part mystery, part romance, and part melodrama.
