The Wondrous Kite

The Wondrous Kite by Julia Sandberg, Jason Sandberg
Series: Jason Sandberg eBooks 99 Cent Short Story Book 3
Kindle Edition, 6 pages
Published December 6th 2015 by Jason Sandberg eBooks

What would it be like to be a carefree kite? This rhyming picture book imagines the world as seen by "The Wondrous Kite". Perfect as a bedtime story, this book also serves as an introduction to the pet dinosaurs, pixie wings, and resourceful heroines that populate Jason Sandberg's eBooks.

My thoughts about The Wondrous Kite ~~

It's kind of hard to write up a review for a book that is only 6 pages long but I will say that Jason has created another amazing book that will surely become a favorite of young readers. The text of the story, written as a poem by Jason's young daughter, makes the perfect springboard for the beautiful illustrations, drawn by Jason. This is a quick, fun read that children will want read to them over and over again.

Welcome to The Book Bag today, Jason! I understand that you and your daughter collaborated on this book. That is really awesome and I can just imagine that there will be more collaborations in the future. I'll bet this is pretty exciting for her. How old is your daughter and how did this all come about?

I'm 44 and Julia is 12. Following a poetry module in school, she went above & beyond and compiled a collection of original poems. When she showed me her book I was impressed, between each cute poem she'd created an ongoing interstitial narrative. I picked the kite poem as an opportunity to try some new techniques in PhotoShop, it would work as a self-contained short picture book.

About the author
