Not Quite Christmas
Not Quite Christmas by Sharon Kleve
ebook, 82 pages
Published September 24th 2018
After years of being away during the holidays, all Adair Hutton wants is to spend Christmas with her family. As a travel nurse, she’s been all over the country and enjoyed every minute of it, but it’s time to come home for good.
It becomes more difficult than Adair has anticipated when she has to rely on a handsome stranger, a taxi, Greyhound bus, an Uber, and an airplane to make the journey home. Because the road home isn’t always as easy as planned.
Easton is a cartoon artist and can work from anywhere and isn’t in any hurry to reach Seattle. There’s no family waiting for him. When a beautiful stranger needs his assistance to get home for the holidays, he jumps in with both feet and maybe his heart too.
My thoughts about Not Quite Christmas ~~
(I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first lines.)
First line—"'Ms. Hutton?' The Uber driver, Steve Pryor, smiled at me from the rearview mirror of his Toyota Prius as we pulled away from the curb."
I love reading Christmas stories this time of year. Not Quite Christmas is the wonderful story of Adair and the Christmas she is expecting and the Christmas she ends up with. And as she finds out, one isn't necessarily better than the other, they're just different.
Adair and Easton had to endure numerous roadblocks in order to get 'home' for Christmas. It was hard on them but the time they got to spend together drew them closer together. This just could be a Christmas they both won't forget.
Sharon is a new-to-me author but I like her writing and will be checking out her other stories.
I received a copy of Not Quite Christmas from the author in exchange for my honest review.
