What's your life worth on the open market?
A debt collector can tell you precisely.

In this gritty urban fantasy, debt collectors take your life energy and give it to someone more “worthy" … all while paying the price with black marks on their souls.

In the race to stop Moloch's plan to shift the debt records of thousands of people, Wraith finds the corruption of debt collection runs even deeper than she thought.

My thoughts about Corruption ~~

Whew! This is getting pretty intense! And just when I think I've figured out what's going on and that things might be coming to an end, something else happens that makes me gasp! There is only one episode left in this season and I can't even begin to imagine how this is all going to end.
'The only thing that's different - the thing that I understand far better than my father ever could - is that if you're going to fight something this evil, this monstrous, that sometimes you're going to have to get down in the muck to do it.'
Wraith, Zachariel, and Wyatt have a plan. But things continually don't go according to plans. There's one road block after another. I'm not sure they are ever going to get a break and save the lives that are going to be destroyed.
'I'm saying it takes debt collectors to understand how to beat debt collectors. And that this ability we have to transfer life energy ... it's not inherently evil. It's the people who are evil, not the thing itself. There's a way to use it for good, if by no other means than simply stopping those who are using it for evil. And I'm determined to make that happen.'
Good luck with that, Wraith!

****************************
Corruption is approximately 11,000 words or 44 pages, and is the seventh of nine episodes in the second season of The Debt Collector serial.

It is recommended that you start with the first season, but each season is a complete story for that debt collector and can serve as an entry point to the series. There are five planned seasons in the Debt Collector series, the first four each from the perspective of a different debt collector with the fifth season bringing all four together.

About the Author

Susan Kaye Quinn grew up in California, where she wrote snippets of stories and passed them to her friends during class. Her teachers pretended not to notice and only confiscated her stories a couple times.

Susan left writing behind to pursue a bunch of engineering degrees, but she was drawn back to writing by an irresistible urge to share her stories with her niece, her kids, and all the wonderful friends she’s met along the way.

She doesn’t have to sneak her notes anymore, which is too bad.

Susan writes from the Chicago suburbs with her three boys, two cats, and one husband. Which, it turns out, is exactly as a much as she can handle.
