Cards From Khloe's Flower Shop by Isabella Louise Anderson
Published by Chick Lit Goddess, LLC.

As the owner of a successful florist shop, Khloe Harper trusts her instincts. She has a strong bond with her family and friends, but after being betrayed by her last love, she’s kept herself at arms’ length from romance. When dashing entertainment attorney Derek Thomas walks into her store, Khloe’s interested is piqued. What at first seems like a business relationship quickly turns into romance, and Derek slowly plucks away the petals she’s been hiding behind. Just as Khloe lets down her guard, she discovers that Derek may not be worthy of her love after all…

Frumpy Connie Albright has a faux fascination with an imaginary man named Walt, sending herself flowers from him to feel less out-of-place with the “mean girls” she works with. Gabby Lewis, a recently widowed senior, isn’t ready to give up on love—which means releasing herself from survivor’s guilt and taking a chance on finding happiness and companionship again.

As these stories intertwine through flowers and cards sent from Khloe’s shop, the three women begin to learn that love can only truly blossom when you trust your heart.

My thoughts about Merry & Bright ~~

When I first saw that this book was on tour, I knew I had to particpate. For one thing, I love Christmas stories. And for another thing, I have read and loved books by 4 of the 6 authors included in this anthology so I knew it would be full of great stories!

A Very Dixie Christmas by Lauren Clark

I loved Lauren's story. We get to take a trip back to Eufaula, Alabama which is where her book Dancing Naked in Dixie is set. I loved that story and I loved going back and revisiting Eufaula. The first page of the story contains these words -
'But when I look back, it came down to three things. A list, my UPS man, and some mistletoe.'
How can that just not grab your attention? I knew it was going to be a interesting story!
'You know, Christmas magic only happens when you really believe in it. When you wish and pray for good things to come - not just for you, but to your family and neighbors. Sometimes, you even have to wish for a little happiness for people who aren't very nice to us.'
Christmas at Mulberry Inn by Cindy Arora

I had not read anything by Cindy before reading this story but she will be an author I'll watch from now on though. Her story really stuck with me, even after I moved on to the next story and the next book on my list.

Poor Saffron, she travels to the Mulberry Inn to escape her life and to visit her best friend, who also happens to be her soon-to-be ex's sister.
'"Your daddy works here?" I ask and scribble Saffron Swift, then stare at my signature. I had worn the name like a badge of honor for twelve years, and oddly, I'm not her anymore.'
I loved the setting of the Mulberry Inn and the little community it was a part of. The people in this town come together and celebrate Christmas with wonderful traditions. It reminded me of the community I grew up in and the traditions that we had. What a sweet story!

Ice Dating by Nancy Scrofano

What a fun idea for a story - 'speed dating... on ice'. Poor Quinn, her friend is just trying to hook her up with someone, and why not try it at the ice rink.
'Because I've been engaged four times, and I've been abandoned every time right before 'I do'. I'm the anti-Julia Roberts, starring in Runaway Grooms.'
Nancy has such a great sense of humor and it really comes out in the situations her main character gets herself into.
'Oh, and here's the best part of this evening... we're wearing tacky Christmas sweaters and mistletoe headbands. Yes, all of us. A crowd of grown adults dressed like a group of grandmas having a party for their knitting club.'
What a great story!

Meet Me Under the Mistletoe by Isabella Louise Anderson

I just finished one of Isabella's books and knew I would enjoy this story. Lexi goes away by herself over the holidays to focus on her manuscript. She just wants to be alone to write, and to get over her cheating boyfriend, Matt. She has no idea that her secluded vacation would turn out the way it it.

What a sweet story about finding love when you're really not looking for it.

Secret Santa by Libby Mercer

I am a big fan of Libby's stories and this one did not disappoint. I love the idea of a Secret Santa and this Secret Santa sends Abbie on a treasure hunt; a treasure hunt that takes her back to all the places that were important to her and Rafael, a long time ago.
'Your Christmas dreams will come true, Abbie MacQueen, if you follow these simple instructions.'
Abbie thinks she is on a treasure hunt to learn that she is getting the job she wants. But her Secret Santa has other ideas.

What a fun story!

Twelve Drummers Drumming by Laura Chapman

I am a little prejudiced when it comes to Laura's stories. She and I are both from Nebraska and as the saying goes, you can take the girl out of Nebraska but you can't take the Nebraska out of the girl. I love that she incorporates references to NE into her story. And then her story takes place in n Colorado. What's not to love about that?

Autumn and her husband, Tuck are spending a glorious Christmas together. Two weeks by themselves, no family or band reponsibilites to get in the way of their special time together. But then things start to go wrong and things aren't what they seem to be. Autumn is beginning to doubt and question the actions of her husband. Their perfect Christmas has suddenly gone all wrong.
'On one hand, this explains Tuck's absence and the distance. It doesn't explain why he bothered bringing ne here, or why he still claims to love me.'
A great love story that leaves us with such great wisdom --
'No gift under the tree is greater than the present.'

On Tour: The Right Design by Isabella Louise Anderson

The Right Design

The Right Design by Isabella Louise Anderson
183 pages
Published March 8th 2014 by Chick Lit Goddess

Interior designer Carrie Newman could not have envisioned a more perfect life for herself. She had a great job doing what she loved, wonderful friends, and a close relationship with her sister and brother-in-law. Add in an amazing man who she’d hoped would soon become her husband, and her life was perfect. Until one devastating decision ruins her relationship and changes the course of her life.

Determined to make a new start, Carrie leaves Texas and heads to Palm Beach to pick up the pieces of her shattered and broken life. The last thing she expects is to find herself attracted to her first client at her new job--Brad Larson, who has proven himself time and time again to be caddish.

But there’s something beneath the surface of Brad’s arrogant exterior that keeps her craving more of him--something almost sweet that Carrie can’t seem to resist.

Is Carrie ready to take another chance on romance? And will this new design of her life prove to be the right one?

Purchase The Right Design

My thoughts about The Right Design ~~

What a sweet story! The Right Design is a quick, fun read with a great main character named Carrie. She breaks it off with her boyfriend of six years and even after he begs for forgiveness and a second chance, she wants nothing to do with him She even moves to a new town in a different state in order to get over him. That takes a lot of guts to turn your life upside down and make a change like that. More power to her!
'You know when you're so much in love with someone and can't imagine your life without that one person, even when you're going throught tough times? There is no one I'll ever love more.'
So, Carrie meets Brad at the bar where her friend, Oliver is serving up drinks. Let me tell you, Brad did not make a good first impression on Carrie that evening. How ironic it is when she finds out that Brad is her very first client. Can she get past that horrible first encounter when what she really wants is to give in to that chemistry thing they have going on? It was fun watching their relationship struggle through the akwardness and move on to a more deeper one.

I have to admit though, I was really hoping for a few more sparks to fly between Carrie and Oliver. That would have made for an interesting twist to the story - two hot guys after one beautiful gal. Oh well, things turn out okay in the end anyway.

I really loved the relationship between Carrie and her sister, Sara. They were so totally there for each other when they needed to be. You could tell they were really close. And Sean, Sara's husband, sounded like he was a fabulous guy too. So there were a lot of secondary characters who all made the story that much more enjoyable.

The Right Design is Isabella's first novel and I enjoyed it very much. It will be exciting to see what she has planned next.
