Congratulations Julianne
on the recent release of
All Our Beautiful Goodbyes !

All Our Beautiful Goodbyes by Julianne MacLean
Historical Fiction, 356 pages
Published March 25, 2025 by Lake Union Publishing

From USA Today bestselling author Julianne MacLean comes an epic tale of unrequited love that is by turns breathtaking, heartbreaking—and utterly unforgettable.

1946: World War II is over, and Emma Clarkson is poised to take flight. With dreams of attending university, she’s ready to leave behind the wild beauty of Sable Island, the only home she’s ever known. But when a handsome British sea captain is rescued from a nearby shipwreck, her destiny is forever changed.

Emma falls deeply in love with Oliver Harris, but their romance is not meant to be. Oliver returns to the sea, while Emma vows to forget him and pursue her own ambitions. When a handsome veterinarian arrives on the island to study the wild horses, Emma finds love again, but soon discovers that all is not as it seems…

1995: Mourning the death of her beloved grandmother, Joanna Griffin is shocked to learn that her grandfather once loved a young woman named Emma, but lies, betrayals, and catastrophic events separated them forever. As Joanna crosses an ocean to solve the secrets of her grandfather’s past, she learns that love is a powerful force, even mightier than the passage of time…

A shining thread of hope illuminates this epic tale of lost love and fallen dreams, set in the remote splendor of Nova Scotia and spanning decades.

My thoughts about All Our Beautiful Goodbyes ~~

(I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first lines.)

First lines—"On the night of May 8, 1946, a wild and terrible gale whipped up fifty-foot waves and swept a British merchant ship off course, thrusting her hard and fast toward the dangerous shores of Sable Island."

I am a huge fan of Julianne MacLean and her stories. I have read quite a few of her books and I've loved every one of them. I was so excited to start another one. I seriously need to make more time to read the rest of her books!

All Our Beautiful Goodbyes swept me away to the beautiful, rugged land of Sable Island. Rich with deep, memorable characters who are living through the drama of their lives, I lived all the ups and downs that Emma was experiencing. She found what she thought was her soul mate and then lost him. Star-crossed lovers for sure.

Years later, a granddaughter puts the pieces of their lives together and helps bring some closure. This is such a beautiful, heartwarming, while also a heart-breaking, love story. I loved all of the characters, well almost all of them anyway, and the intertwining stories of their lives kept me captivated until the very end.

I loved this story and highly recommend All Our Beautiful Goodbyes. Julianne MacLean has penned another great one. This is the perfect historical fiction story and love story all rolled into one. Check it out!

I received an ARC of All Our Beautiful Goodbyes and this is my honest opinion of the book.

Release Day! A Storm of Infinite Beauty by ~ My Thoughts #AStormOfInfiniteBeauty @JulianneMacLean @GoSparkPoint

Congratulations Julianne
on the release today of
A Storm of Infinite Beauty!

A Storm of Infinite Beauty by Julianne MacLean
Fiction, 300 pages
Published September 12, 2023 by Lake Union Publishing

From the bestselling author of Beyond the Moonlit Sea comes an atmospheric tale of how one woman’s search for the truth uncovers long-hidden secrets and rocks the very foundation of her world.

Scarlett Fontaine is a true Hollywood legend―a singer, actress, and beloved fashion icon. But Scarlett dies tragically at just thirty-six years old, leaving behind no children. Or so the story goes…

Gwen Hollingsworth is the curator at a museum dedicated to Scarlett’s life. She’s also sole heir to Scarlett’s fortune as a descendant of the star. But all is not well in Gwen’s world. She’s dealing with a messy marital separation and is struggling to move forward. So when Peter Miller, a biographer and photojournalist, comes to the museum with shocking claims about Scarlett―a life of exile in Alaska, a baby born in secret―Gwen’s whole world is turned upside down. Again .

Determined to uncover the truth, Gwen and Peter set out for Alaska together but soon find themselves on a path toward something far deeper and more meaningful than either of them ever expected. A Storm of Infinite Beauty takes readers on a breathtaking journey from a lush vineyard in Nova Scotia to a rustic lodge in Alaska where old family secrets are revealed and the quest for true happiness begins.

My thoughts about A Storm of Infinite Beauty ~~

(I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first line.)

First line—"Twenty-three minutes before the earthquake struck. Valerie McCarthy was on her way to deliver a letter."

I've read a couple of other books by this author and thoroughly enjoyed them. I was excited when I received a copy of A Storm of Infinite Beauty for review. I was not disappointed, this story was as good as her other ones were.

Scarlett led a very private and secret life. When a shocking discovery is revealed about her past, Gwen and Peter are determined to get answers and search for those who knew her back then. Finding themselves in the beautiful lands of Alaska, they uncover the past and discover new truths about Scarlett. They learn more about themselves along the way as well.

A Storm of Infinite Beauty is a well written, enjoyable read with very likable characters that I found myself totally immersed in. I truly did not want the story to end but loved the way that it did. Julianne MacLean will be an author that I will always want to read and I look forward to more of her stories.

I received an ARC of A Storm of Infinite Beauty and this is my honest opinion.

It's Destiny

It's Destiny: Three Romantic Women's Fiction Love Stories by Bette Lee Crosby, Tanya Anne Crosby, and Julianne MacLean
e-book, 520 pages
Published November 22nd 2016 by Oliver-Heber Books

Do you believe in destiny? Love and destiny walk hand in hand in this touching, heartwarming trio of stories. USA Today bestselling authors, Bette Lee Crosby, Tanya Anne Crosby and Julianne MacLean at their finest.

MEMORY HOUSE

Memory House is a place where friendship turns to love, love lasts forever, and memories outlive their owner. Ophelia Browne knows this because she's been granted the unique gift of finding and caring for those forgotten memories. But now she's nearing ninety, and needs to find a successor - soon.

When broken-hearted Annie Cross shows up on the doorstep of The Memory House Bed and Breakfast, Ophelia knows she is the one. The two women forge a bond of friendship as they sip magical dandelion tea and share stories. When Annie starts to uncover new memories Ophelia is delighted, but then a thread of violence begins to unravel and she fears things have gone too far.

My thoughts ~~ I absolutely love all of Bette's stories and Memory House is the beginning of a wonderful, sweet series. Her stories are always full of amazing characters and so much wisdom. I especially love Ophelia and I love the idea of things holding memories that can be passed on. All of Bette's stories have a little bit of magic and mystery which makes them so enchanting. She is one of my must read authors.

LADY'S MAN

Instinct brought Annie Franklin to Folly Beach, South Carolina to say goodbye to her grandmother. As a parting gift to her beloved gram, she also decides it's time to live a freer, more open-hearted life.

Thanks to one very intuitive dog and a perfect stranger, she discovers that 'letting go' has as much to do with embracing the present as it does with shedding the past. New York Times best-selling author Tanya Anne Crosby makes her contemporary fiction debut with a novella about life and love in the Lowcountry...

My thoughts ~ What a sweet story. Who would have thought that an accidental meeting could change two people's lives so much? Annie is a planner and this trip to Folly Beach opened her eyes and made her realize that you don't always have to have a plan, sometimes things just work out they way they are supposed to. Tanya is a new-to-me author but I really enjoyed this story and I'm excited to read some more. One thing I got from reading this wonderful story is that we should all 'listen more closely to the universe'.

THE COLOR OF DESTINY

Eighteen years ago a teenage pregnancy changed Kate Worthington's life forever. Faced with many difficult decisions, she chose to follow her heart and embrace an uncertain future with the father of her baby and her devoted first love.

My thoughts ~ The Color of Destiny is a beautiful, heart wrenching, wonderful story of love and loss and the strength of one woman who has lost everyone she has ever loved. Over the years, her destiny put her in the right places at the right times to be able to survive and move on. This story was one that I became so engrossed in that I did not want to put it down and I did not want it to end. This is only one book in Julianne's The Color of Heaven series and I am ready to read more!

It's Destiny is on sale for only $2.99!

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it.

About the authors

Bette Lee Crosby

"Storytelling is in my blood," Crosby laughingly admits, "My mom was not a writer, but she was a captivating storyteller, so I find myself using bits and pieces of her voice in most everything I write."

It is the wit and wisdom of that Southern Mama Crosby brings to her works of fiction; the result is a delightful blend of humor, mystery and romance along with a cast of quirky characters who will steal your heart away. Her work was first recognized in 2006 when she received The National League of American Pen Women Award for a then unpublished manuscript. She has since gone on to win nineteen awards for her work; these include: The Royal Palm Literary Award, the FPA President's Book Award Gold Medal, Reader's Favorite Award Gold Medal, and the Reviewer's Choice Award.

Tanya Anne Crosby

Put a menu in front of me and I immediately don't know what I want. Fried green tomatoes with grits? Yep, OK. Fish? Sounds good, too. OK, so what are you having? I'll do that too. When it comes to shoes--forget it. I end up buying nothing because I can't make up my mind. Thank God I have a husband who has great tastes, or my closet might be empty.

I'm one of those people who suffers from acute ambivalence given too many choices, but when it comes to what I wanted to do with my life, I've known that decidedly since the age of 12--and probably long before that. It all began once upon a time after a tonsillectomy, when the doc advised mom and dad they should reward me with anything I wanted (the key word here being anything). All I wanted was dad's typewriter. I got it, of course--a black, sporty Olympia I immediately set out to wearing the letters off the keys. So here I am all these years later, with sixteen books under my belt and a new one on the way ... still wearing the letters off keyboards ... and loving every minute.
