It's Destiny

It's Destiny: Three Romantic Women's Fiction Love Stories by Bette Lee Crosby, Tanya Anne Crosby, and Julianne MacLean
e-book, 520 pages
Published November 22nd 2016 by Oliver-Heber Books

Do you believe in destiny? Love and destiny walk hand in hand in this touching, heartwarming trio of stories. USA Today bestselling authors, Bette Lee Crosby, Tanya Anne Crosby and Julianne MacLean at their finest.

MEMORY HOUSE

Memory House is a place where friendship turns to love, love lasts forever, and memories outlive their owner. Ophelia Browne knows this because she's been granted the unique gift of finding and caring for those forgotten memories. But now she's nearing ninety, and needs to find a successor - soon.

When broken-hearted Annie Cross shows up on the doorstep of The Memory House Bed and Breakfast, Ophelia knows she is the one. The two women forge a bond of friendship as they sip magical dandelion tea and share stories. When Annie starts to uncover new memories Ophelia is delighted, but then a thread of violence begins to unravel and she fears things have gone too far.

My thoughts ~~ I absolutely love all of Bette's stories and Memory House is the beginning of a wonderful, sweet series. Her stories are always full of amazing characters and so much wisdom. I especially love Ophelia and I love the idea of things holding memories that can be passed on. All of Bette's stories have a little bit of magic and mystery which makes them so enchanting. She is one of my must read authors.

LADY'S MAN

Instinct brought Annie Franklin to Folly Beach, South Carolina to say goodbye to her grandmother. As a parting gift to her beloved gram, she also decides it's time to live a freer, more open-hearted life.

Thanks to one very intuitive dog and a perfect stranger, she discovers that 'letting go' has as much to do with embracing the present as it does with shedding the past. New York Times best-selling author Tanya Anne Crosby makes her contemporary fiction debut with a novella about life and love in the Lowcountry...

My thoughts ~ What a sweet story. Who would have thought that an accidental meeting could change two people's lives so much? Annie is a planner and this trip to Folly Beach opened her eyes and made her realize that you don't always have to have a plan, sometimes things just work out they way they are supposed to. Tanya is a new-to-me author but I really enjoyed this story and I'm excited to read some more. One thing I got from reading this wonderful story is that we should all 'listen more closely to the universe'.

THE COLOR OF DESTINY

Eighteen years ago a teenage pregnancy changed Kate Worthington's life forever. Faced with many difficult decisions, she chose to follow her heart and embrace an uncertain future with the father of her baby and her devoted first love.

My thoughts ~ The Color of Destiny is a beautiful, heart wrenching, wonderful story of love and loss and the strength of one woman who has lost everyone she has ever loved. Over the years, her destiny put her in the right places at the right times to be able to survive and move on. This story was one that I became so engrossed in that I did not want to put it down and I did not want it to end. This is only one book in Julianne's The Color of Heaven series and I am ready to read more!

It's Destiny is on sale for only $2.99!

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it.

About the authors

Bette Lee Crosby

"Storytelling is in my blood," Crosby laughingly admits, "My mom was not a writer, but she was a captivating storyteller, so I find myself using bits and pieces of her voice in most everything I write."

It is the wit and wisdom of that Southern Mama Crosby brings to her works of fiction; the result is a delightful blend of humor, mystery and romance along with a cast of quirky characters who will steal your heart away. Her work was first recognized in 2006 when she received The National League of American Pen Women Award for a then unpublished manuscript. She has since gone on to win nineteen awards for her work; these include: The Royal Palm Literary Award, the FPA President's Book Award Gold Medal, Reader's Favorite Award Gold Medal, and the Reviewer's Choice Award.

Tanya Anne Crosby

Put a menu in front of me and I immediately don't know what I want. Fried green tomatoes with grits? Yep, OK. Fish? Sounds good, too. OK, so what are you having? I'll do that too. When it comes to shoes--forget it. I end up buying nothing because I can't make up my mind. Thank God I have a husband who has great tastes, or my closet might be empty.

I'm one of those people who suffers from acute ambivalence given too many choices, but when it comes to what I wanted to do with my life, I've known that decidedly since the age of 12--and probably long before that. It all began once upon a time after a tonsillectomy, when the doc advised mom and dad they should reward me with anything I wanted (the key word here being anything). All I wanted was dad's typewriter. I got it, of course--a black, sporty Olympia I immediately set out to wearing the letters off the keys. So here I am all these years later, with sixteen books under my belt and a new one on the way ... still wearing the letters off keyboards ... and loving every minute.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? January 9, 2017

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's an opportunity to visit other blogs and to comment on their reads. And ... you can add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

**************************************

Well, what a week this has been. Last Monday, we welcomed our new little granddaughter into this world. I am so pleased to introduce our new adorable little baby girl, Lilliana Jean. Her middle name, Jean, is in honor of her 85 year old great-grandmother. She will be meeting her namesake in a couple of weeks when we're able to get down to see her. 💓

Nama and Lilliana Jean

We took care of her 7½ year old brother for a few days (and overnights) so the parents could concentrate on the birth and the baby. And then ..... on the one hour drive back home in the middle of the week, our car broke down on the interstate and had to be towed in for repair. One hour in the car, with no heat, waiting for our ride - brrrr! It's pretty major and we probably won't be getting it back until the middle of the week, or later. And then ...... our other car ended up being out of commission as well. It is so blasted cold here and it wouldn't start. Hubby is trying his darnedest to figure out what the problem is. He can be so stubborn sometimes and thinks he should be able to fix it himself but I think he's about ready to give up. So we've had some good with some bad. That's life, I guess.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you all have a great week. Happy reading!

As this post goes live, we should be welcoming our new granddaughter into our lives. She is scheduled to be born this morning. It is always so exciting to have a baby join our world. This little one will put us at 8 grandchildren, some biological and some I call our 'bonus' grandchildren. I love them all and we are so blessed!

Other than that, we had a great Christmas and it was wonderful to spend some time with our extended families. I took the week off of work after Christmas, enjoyed some lazy days, and got a little bit of reading done. I also tried to catch up on some of my review posts. I'm looking forward to some great reads in 2017.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you all have a great week. Happy New Year and happy reading!
