200 Followers Giveaway!!

 Let's Celebrate!!

I just recently jumped from
80+ followers to 200+ followers!
Yippee!!!!

A lot of those new followers are because of a
giveaway hop that I participated in.

Aren't giveaway hops wonderful?

So..... since I held my very first, little, tiny giveaway when I reached 50 followers, (that was so exciting!)
I am going to give one book for every
50 additional followers that I currently have.

So, let's pause a moment to 'do the math'.

   50
+50
+50
+50
200

If you are catching my drift ....
that will be 3 (three) books
I'm going to give away!!

I looked through my shelves and I am going to offer
several, gently read books that the winners can pick from.
Some are ARCs but, hey, that's okay, right?

So the first name drawn will have first pick from the choices. The second name will then pick from the rest of the choices and the third will pick ....... you get the idea.

And let's make this International!!

For all of you outside the U.S. ~ you can get any book of your choice up to $15
from The Book Depository, if they ship to you.

~ So here are the books up for grabs ~
More could be added to the list later,
depending on my mood and what I get read.

~ and these are in alphabetical order,
just because that is how we do it in the library world ~

The title links will lead you to my thoughts on the books.

Chosen by Chandra Hoffman

Folly Beach by Dorothea Benton Frank

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

Juliette hasn't touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal. As long as she doesn't hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don't fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war-- and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she's exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

In this electrifying debut, Tahereh Mafi presents a world as riveting as The Hunger Games and a superhero story as thrilling as The X-Men. Full of pulse-pounding romance, intoxicating villainy, and high-stakes choices, Shatter Me is a fresh and original dystopian novel—with a paranormal twist—that will leave readers anxiously awaiting its sequel. ~~synopsis from Goodreads

My thoughts on Shatter Me ~~

Okay, I had seen this book all over the blogging world and it had me curious. I was able to snag an ARC of the book and just now got around to reading it. And then, oh wow, I inhaled this book over a weekend. I did not want to do anything else but read this book! I was totally drawn into the story and the characters. I had to keep reading to find out what happened to Juliette and those around her.

As well as having a great story and characters, Ms. Mafi also writes very  beautifully. It was almost like reading poetry at times. I marked the following passage that I thought was so descriptive and beautiful.

~~ His voice was so soft so soft so soft. His arms are stronger than all the bones in my body. He pulls my swaddled figure close to his chest and I shatter. Two three four fifty thousand pieces of feeling stab me in the heart, melt into drops of warm honey that soothe the scars in my soul. ~~

According to Goodreads, the second book in this series is due out in November 2012. I for one, will be anxiously awaiting book #2.

WWW Wednesdays January 4

WWW Wednesdays is hosted by Should Be Reading

To play along, just answer the following three questions…
• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I am currently reading 11/23/63 by Stephen King (for fun) and Folly Beach by Dorothea Benton Frank (for a book tour, which will be fun too!)

What did you recently finish reading?

I recently finished Spin by Catherine McKenzie and Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. I loved both of these books and my thoughts will be posted soon.

What do you think you will be reading next?

I think I will be working on 11/22/63 for awhile since it is 850 pages (altho' I have heard that it's a quick read). So in addition to continuing on with that book, I will also next be reading Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum. This is the January selection for one of the book clubs that I am in.

What's on your WWW Wednesday this week?

 Happy reading everyone!
