Release Day! I Know You Killed Your Husband by Steena Holmes ~ My Thoughts #IKnowYouKilledYourHusband #NetGalley

Happy Release Day!

Congratulations Steena
on the release today of
I Know You Killed Your Husband!

I Know You Killed Your Husband by Steena Holmes
Psychological Fiction, 320 pages
Published May 21, 2026 by Bookouture

As we toast our champagne, Lyndy leans over and whispers six little words that change everything: ‘I know you killed your husband.’

James and I were the perfect couple. He swept me off my feet, and after years of marriage, we still seemed totally in love. Then his sudden death destroyed everything. This girls’ trip to Paris with my best friends is my first chance to try and start again.

But at Lyndy’s words, my heart races in my chest. The police said my husband’s death was accidental. If Lyndy thinks I killed him… what else does she know?

I can’t believe my best friend would turn on me. After everything we’ve been through. Everything we covered up for her…

But the next morning, Lyndy is found dead in the hotel pool. And the letter shoved under the door to my suite makes my blood run

Now you’re free, liar.

My thoughts about I Know You Killed Your Husband ~~

(I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first lines.)

First lines—"PARIS, FRANCE -- I have been waiting 25 years for this."

Revenge. Could you wait 25 years for revenge? That's a lot to hold in for so many years. A girls' trip to beautiful Paris, of all places, turns into an experience that no one was expecting. A dead friend, unexplained notes randomly appearing, and another friend, who was uninvited to this trip, showing unexpectedly. Those are all elements for a mysterious and stressful vacation.

I have read a lot of Steena Holmes' books and she is a master of intriguing thrillers. I Know You Killed Your Husband is going to be another hit for her. It has everything you could want and is a total page-turner. I loved every minute of it and couldn't wait to see how it all ended and how she wrapped everything up.

Loved it and highly recommend it!

I received an ARC of I Know You Killed Your Husband and this is my honest opinion.

Release Day! Nine Missing Girls by Steena Holmes ~ My Thoughts #NineMissingGirls

Happy Release Day!

Congratulations Steena
on the release today of
Nine Missing Girls!

Nine Missing Girls: : Inside the Gripping Case Files of FBI Missing-Girl Specialist Meri Amber by Steena Holmes
 Psychological Fiction, 348 pages
Published March 18, 2026 by Joffe Books

From two-million-selling author Steena Holmes, nine dark and gripping stories featuring Detective Meri Amber.

Nine missing girls. Nine cases the world wants to forget. One detective who never will.

Each file is someone’s daughter. Someone’s sister. And if Meri Amber can’t bring them home, she’ll make sure their stories end with justice.

As the FBI’s leading child abduction specialist, Meri has spent her career chasing the vanished – from Minnesota to Montana, from abandoned barns to dark cellars that still echo with screams. But every case cuts deeper than the last.

“I’m Detective Meri Amber. I’ve been searching for my sister for twenty years. Every missing girl is a mirror. Every scream behind a wall could be hers.

I’ll never stop looking. These are the stories of the girls I’ve found, the truths I’ve uncovered, and the cracks in my own past I can’t seem to seal.”

From the horrifying secrets of the House of Dolls, to a macabre twelfth birthday party, to the sinister truths buried in the Widow’s Barn: delve into nine intriguing mysteries which will chill you to the bone.

Nine nail-biting stories full of shocking twists by a New York Times bestselling author.

Perfect for fans of Freida McFadden, John Marrs, A.L. Torre, Shari Lapena, T.M. Logan and Clare Mackintosh.

My thoughts about Nine Missing Girls ~~

(I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first lines.)

First lines—"I don't believe people just vanish. Not really. Someone always knows something, Someone always sees. They just don't always speak."

Meri Amber, a much-loved character in some of Steena's previous books, is back. And back with a vengeance! Meri is a detective, specializing in missing girl cases. She has been on this quest since her sister went missing years ago. Maybe someday her sister will be found and her abductor will be charged. In the meantime, she investigates all missing cases she comes across.

Nine Missing Girls contains the stories of nine girls—nine horrific stories of abduction and torture, each one worse than the one before. Meri investigates each one hoping to bring closure for the girls and peace for their families. Honestly, some of the stories were kind of hard to read but I know that these, and even worse, cases are out there everyday. The determination of Meri to take care of these girls is admirable.

I love the tenacity of Meri to see these case through to the end and love that Steena shared this collection of Meri's cases with her readership. These are stories you don't want to miss. I highly recommend Nine Missing Girls

I received an ARC of Nine Missing Girls and this is my honest opinion.

Release Day! She Took My Baby by Steena Holmes ~ My Thoughts #SheTookMyBaby

Happy Release Day!

Congratulations Steena
on the release today of
She Took My Baby!

She Took My Baby by Steena Holmes
Psychological Thriller, 328 pages
Published January 5, 2026 by Bookouture

I look after her children. But I know she stole mine…

As a nanny for the wealthy Eatons, Trina watches every day as Rosalind Eaton cradles the baby close. Trina’s baby.

The sweet little boy won’t settle—he never does in Rosalind’s arms. It breaks Trina’s heart to see the tiny tears falling down his fat cheeks. His glossy hair is light auburn, and straight. Nothing like the Eaton family’s classic dark curls.

Trina has been watching the Eatons for years. And what she knows about their dark past could be their undoing.

Rosalind isn’t coping. She isn’t sleeping and she’s barely eating. It is Trina who rocks the baby in the dead of night, whispering soothing words of comfort. Surely Rosalind is just one step away from slipping up and revealing the truth Trina is so certain of…

Trina’s baby was stolen.

The Eatons seem perfect, but they can’t be trusted.

And she’ll do anything to get her baby back.

Fans of The Housemaid, The Perfect Marriage and John Marrs will be totally obsessed with this gripping psychological thriller from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Steena Holmes!

My thoughts about She Took My Baby ~~

(I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first lines.)

First lines—"A baby is crying. No, two babies."

How horrible to give birth and then know that your best friend stole that baby from you to raise as her own. But Trina is going to stick around to get revenge, and to get her baby back.

I found myself going back and forth between the characters, not knowing who to believe and basically not liking anyone. Because weren't they all lying to cover up the truth? As frustrating as that is for me as the reader, it's what kept me turning the pages—to figure it all out and get to that truth.

Once again, Steena Holmes has created an amazing thriller with twists and turns, before landing the very satisfying ending. Her stories never disappoint!

Release Day! The Girls in the Basement by Steena Holmes ~ My Thoughts #TheGirlsInTheBasement @steenaholmes @JoffeBooks

Happy Release Day!

Congratulation Steena
on the release today of
The Girls in the Basement!

The Girls in the Basement by Steena Holmes
Psychological Thriller, 339 pages
Published April 10, 2024 by Joffe Books

Jillian thought she knew her husband. They’ve been married for twenty years. But she doesn’t know him at all.

Jillian Harper thought moving to the quiet little town in Montana would be the fresh start her family needed. A charming farmhouse, friendly neighbors, and endless open fields — it was supposed to be perfect.

Until the bodies are found.

Buried deep on their land. Hidden for years.

The police are everywhere. The town is whispering. And Tucker — her devoted husband — is acting . . . strange. He won’t tell her where he was all day. He won’t explain why his phone was off. And worst of all — he won’t meet her eyes.

Jillian knows Tucker is lying. She just doesn’t know why.

But the truth is far worse than she imagined. Because someone left those bodies there. Maybe the real monster isn’t lurking out there in the fields . . . Maybe he’s sleeping in her bed.

My thoughts about The Girls in the Basement ~~

(I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first lines.)

First lines—"The slamming of a door shatters the silence, jolting Lola into action. The rising chaotic symphony of voices has her closing the oven door with a quick flick of the wrist."

Oh my gosh! Steena has done it again. I don't know how she writes such deeply disturbing stories full of creepy, disturbing characters. But I have loved every one of her stories! She is the master of thrillers and creepy characters.

The Girls in the Basement takes you exactly where you think it is going to. Who is doing those horrible things to those girls and how do the people around those monsters not know what is going on? And then when the twist at the end is thrown in, I seriously had to take a break. Masterpiece!

I highly recommend this story if you love thrillers that will keep you on your toes. It is a definite page-turner.

Release Day! The Twin by Steena Holmes ~ On Tour and My Thoughts #TheTwin @steenaholmes @ZooloosBT @JoffeBooks

Happy Release Day!

Congratulation Steena
on the release today of
The Twin!

The Twin by Steena Holmes
Psychological Fiction, 313 pages
Published August 29, 2024 by Joffe Books

My twin brother is the person I’m closest to. But now he frightens me.

We both have the same white-blond hair and clear blue eyes. All our lives people have stared at us. So we had to be there for each other.

Bryce tried to protect me from our dad. But when he died, I thought I was finally safe.

After the funeral, Bryce takes me aside: “Since Dad’s passing . . . well, it’s been going on for a few years now. I’ve been keeping a huge secret from you.”

Now I’m lying bruised and broken on a cold floor in a dark room. How I got here is the question. And what they want from me is insane . . .

My thoughts about The Twin ~~

(I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first lines.)

First lines—"Death is a permanent fixture in my life, but I'm not ready to shake hands with that Angel and be welcomed into its embrace. Sometimes those decisions aren't ours to make."

I'm a huge fan of Steena Holmes and her stories and was so excited to read this one—another one of her fabulous thrillers. And this one did not disappoint.

There were so many unexpected twists to this story, things I couldn't even imagine, that sometimes I was sitting in shock at the direction the storyline was going. I'm sure if I went back and read it again, I would look at some plot points in a whole different light. Twenty-twenty hindsight, right? I may just do that, now that I know the whole story.

The climax to this story was pretty intense and I wasn't sure that it was going to end well. What an exciting ride this was. I loved The Twin and thoroughly enjoyed the intriguing characters and all the twists, turns, and secrets. I highly recommend it!

I received an ARC of The Twin and this is my honest opinion.

New Release! The Library of Christmas Memories by Steena Holmes ~ My Thoughts #TheLibraryOfMemories @steenaholmes

The Library of Christmas Memories: A Christmas Market Novel by Steena Holmes
Friendship Fiction, Holiday Fiction, 252 pages
Published December 3, 2023 by SH Press

Some Christmas trips should come with a warning label…

Every year the Tinsel Traveler friends visit Christmas markets in different countries. This year is Belgium.

Mara wasn’t planning on going though, she was grieving the loss of her mother Stella. But her Tinsel Traveler friends - women who have become her family; Donna, Jo-Jo, Kat, Sandra, and Lucy, weren’t leaving one of their own behind.

If it wasn’t bad enough Mara had to be ready to leave in two days, Lucy gives her the first of a series of letters left by Stella, letters that reveal shocking discoveries and Mara questions if her whole life has been one lie after another.

With each letter Mara reads, Stella reveals another truth.

Amidst the twinkling lights of Brussels and Bruges, Mara looks to Lucy for answers, and it turns out visiting Belgium wasn’t just about the lure of handmade crafts and the aroma of mulled wine, or even the amazing chocolate. The bed and breakfast they’re staying at holds the key to Mara discovering more about her past and learning the truth the whole truth to who she really is.

And every Christmas trip must involve markets, carols, and of course chocolate!

During delicious chocolate walks and meanders through the Christmas Markets, not to mention tasting the different gluwein and endless hot toddies, Mara grapples with feelings of betrayal and forgiveness towards those she loves the most, she wonders if there are more secrets to come?

Explore fairy-tale Christmas Markets with The Library of Christmas Memories, the first book in The Tinsel Travelers Series, a new series that fans of Viola Shipman, Jenny Colgan, Rachel Hanna, and Mary Kay Andrews will enjoy.

My thoughts about The Library of Christmas Memories ~~

(I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first line.)

First lines—"Mara Pearce is three days shy of her forty-sixth birthday. She's three days shy of a birthday she won't be celebrating, and she's completely fine with that."

I know going into a Steena Holmes' novel that I am going to be going on a grand adventure. That was never more true than when I opened the pages of The Library of Christmas Memories. Mara and her group of friends take a wonderful trip together somewhere each year. She decides she isn't going to go this year as she is still grieving the recent loss of her mother.

Well, her friends have other ideas and drag her along. It's what her mother wanted for her. She is totally sidelined when their dear friend, Lucy, gives her a letter that her mom wrote to Mara before her passing. The trip to Belgium is unlike any other trip she has taken, with so many questions and surprises, most of them so shocking to Mara.

I loved everything about The Library of Christmas Memories. First of all, it's a Christmas story and what's not to love about that. There was plenty of drama as Mara tries to resolve the secrets that were kept from her by her mother. And then there were all of the Christmas markets that the group visited—something I would love to do someday—and I felt like I was experiencing it right along with all of these women. And lastly, but maybe the most delicious part, was all the chocolate that the group tested, tasted, and purchased to take home. Honestly, you'll need to have some chocolate on hand you're while reading this because you will be craving it!

I highly recommend The Library of Christmas Memories. It checks off all of my boxes as the perfect read for this time of year. This is book #1 is The Tinsel Traveler Series. I'm so excited to see what the Tinsel Travelers' next adventure will be.

Release Day! The Promise of Christmas by Steena Holmes ~ My Thoughts #ThePromiseOfChristmas @steenaholmes

Happy Release Day!

Congrats Steena
on the release today of
The Promise of Christmas!

The Promise of Christmas by Steena Holmes
Holiday Fiction, 396 pages
Published September 25, 2022 by SH Press Inc

To save their small town from dying...they need a miracle...and some hot cocoa and cookies wouldn't hurt, too.

For the past two years, Ashley Tanner has been trying to keep her promise to revitalize the small mountain town of Innsbruck, but it’s starting to look like she’s failing as mayor, and failure is never an option for her.

She has one last ditch effort - but it’s going to take a lot of work and she’s not sure if she can convince everyone to give it a try.

Rather than become a ghost town, why not become a town focused around Christmas - one of the most magical times of the year? Who wouldn’t love to visit a town where everything is holiday related - from a classic Gingerbread Tea House to a Candy Cane Lane Campground?

Thankfully, those closest to her love the idea, but together, as a group, can they convince the rest of the town?

Just when she thinks everything is coming together, things start to fall apart, not just in her own life, but in those closest to her too. Feeling responsible, while surviving the destruction of her marriage, Ashley tries to find miracles for everyone in her life - after all, Christmas is all about miracles, right?

The promise of what Christmas can be to not only the town of Innsbruck, but to everyone close to her is the only thing keeping her going. Well - that and coffee.

If you love Christmas as much as Steena does, you’ll end up wishing you could visit this tiny town for yourself. After all - who doesn’t love gingerbread houses, sugar cookies, hot cocoa and sleigh rides through a gorgeous mountain side village?

My thoughts about The Promise of Christmas ~~

(I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first lines.)

First line—"Candy cane wishes and mistletoe kisses...fireside dreams as hot cocoa steams... Christmas can't come soon enough for Ashley Tanna, not just because it's her favorite season but because of what the holiday promises."

First of all, isn't this cover amazing? I think it is so beautiful!

I absolutely love stories centered around the Christmas season. And I also love stories about small communities pulling together to make their town better. The Promise of Christmas has all of this and so much more.

I immediately fell in love with Ashley and this little community of Innsbruck. As Ashley struggles to keep her promise to the town she loves, she also struggles with the one person she is supposed to love. Will her decision make or break her marriage?

The Promise of Christmas has great characters and is wonderfully written. I found myself wishing I could become a part of the community and call these people my friends. I loved how the town pulled together to create their own little Christmas village. How amazing would that be—Christmas everyday?

If you love Christmas stories, this definitely needs to go on your reading list. There is plenty of depth,  compassion, and love right along with all that wonderful holiday spirit. I highly recommend The Promise of Christmas.

I received a copy of The Promise of Christmas from the author and this is my honest opinion of the book.
