This Thanksgiving marks 5 years since my little guy (then 7) got to come home from the Children's Hospital post 3 months of intense chemo. He wasn't officially declared cancer free until January of that year, but it had been a long 3 months where our family wasn't in the same place for more than 1-2 days at a time. His brother was 2 at the time and went to his Aunts, while their Dad was working and I stayed at the hospital with the Monster. We got the news the morning of Thanksgiving that we could go and spend the holiday together at home and hopefully stay home depending on scans in December. I'm so thankful we were one of the lucky families who pulled through. Even though now that he is a pre-teen and a complete pain in the butt sometimes. Thanksgiving really is all about family for us, it marks a time in our lives where we were the most thankful.
