Blue String by Tess Thompson ~ My Thoughts #BlueString

Blue String

Blue String by Tess Thompson
Series: Blue Mountain #4
Published September 1, 2020

Costume designer Teagan Lanigan only has time to love her work and the young son she’s raising by herself. But when she decides to give up the glitz and glam of the film industry for a quiet life near her family, she’ll face two unique challenges: reconciling with her estranged mother, and trying to forget her fling with a very famous country music star.

Yet when Wyatt Black suddenly appears on Teagan’s porch, forgetting him is no longer an option. The man who wooed her with sensuality and song is just a shell of himself. Fragile and depressed, he’s carrying the weight of the world on his broad shoulders, and Teagan can’t turn him away. But when the pair find themselves in the middle of a murder investigation, it will be more than just Wyatt’s troubles and the duo’s lingering feelings for each other that leave them tied up in knots.

In the fourth installment of USA Today bestselling author Tess Thompson’s Blue Mountain Series, fall in love with the thrills of a genuine small town mystery and the heartwarming redemption that can only be found in the eyes of true love.

My thoughts about Blue String ~~

(I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first lines.)

First line—"The herd of elk appeared out of nowhere on a dirt road outside of Peregrine, Idaho."

I haven't read one of Tess Thompson's books in quite awhile and I'm wondering why I waited so long to get back to her books. I was immediately drawn into this story, which is the fourth installment of the Blue Mountain series. Even though it's book 4, I did not at all feel like I was missing anything. I became totally immersed in the lives of Teagan and Wyatt, while also becoming curious to learn more about the other characters.

I loved the sassiness of the relationship between Teagan and Wyatt. They are both pretty headstrong but seem to understand that they are better together than apart. When a dead body is discovered at Teagan's birthday party, the whole family, Wyatt included, comes together to get to the bottom of things.

There is plenty of mystery and intrigue with this wonderful story-line, right along with the relationship building going on between the couple, to make this a page-turner. What a delightful story to get lost in!

I have the other books in the Blue Mountain series waiting on my Kindle and I can't wait to get to them!

I won a copy of Blue String from Goodreads and this is my honest opinion.

About the author

Tess Thompson Romance...hometowns and heartstrings.

Tess Thompson is the USA Today Bestselling and award-winning author of contemporary and historical Romantic Women’s Fiction with nearly 40 published titles. When asked to describe her books, she could never figure out what to say that would perfectly sum them up until she landed on, Hometowns and Heartstrings.

She’s married to her prince, Best Husband Ever, and is the mother of their blended family of four kids and five cats. Best Husband Ever is seventeen months younger, which qualifies Tess as a Cougar, a title she wears proudly. Her Bonus Sons are young adults with pretty hair and big brains like their dad. Daughters, better known as Princess One and Two, are teenagers who make their mama proud because they’re kind. They’re also smart, but a mother shouldn’t brag.

Tess loves lazy afternoons watching football, hanging out on the back patio with Best Husband Ever, reading in bed, binge-watching television series, red wine, strong coffee and walks on crisp autumn days. She laughs a little too loudly, never knows what to make for dinner, looks ridiculous kickboxing in an attempt to combat her muffin top, and always complains about the
rain even though she chose to live in Seattle.

She’s proud to have grown up in a small town like the ones in her novels. After graduating from the University of Southern California Drama School, she had hopes of becoming an actress but was called instead to writing fiction. She’s grateful to spend most days in her office matchmaking her characters while her favorite cat Mittens (shhh…don’t tell the others) sleeps on the desk. ~ Goodreads
