This OR That Giveaway № 155 ~ It's a Big One!

I have sooooo many books!

The This or That Giveaway! feature that I post every Saturday is a way for me to cull my collection and to share some of the many books I have. I get to clear off some of my shelves to make room for more books and give someone else the chance to enjoy these treasures.

Good luck and be sure to stop back next week!

I really don't like the news I am sharing today.

This will be my last This OR That Giveaway post.
I know, I hate it too.
😢

The USPS office has raised their media mail rates AGAIN in 2024. They raised them in January 2024 and just announced that they are going up again in July. While I love sharing my books with all of you, and I appreciate all of the support you have shown me 😘, I just can't justify the cost of sending out these books anymore. Hubs and I are both retired and this cost is eating away at our income. I may post again in the future, maybe when I have a build up of ARCs to get rid of. We'll see. I hope you stick around.

In the meantime, I have my books listed for sale on PangoBooks (for really cheap, I think) (make me an offer if you see some you want, I'll work with you, just email me) and PaperBackSwap. Check out my books there!

This week, I am once again posting my Goodreads Giveaway Shelf so that winners can pick from the list of all of my previous offers. I will pick 5 names so we can end this event on a high note!

Thanks again for your continued support of my giveaways and thanks for visiting my page. I hope you stick around for my other content too.

Click the link to check out my Goodreads shelf so you can see what books are available. Some books may drop off before I select the winners, if they become unavailable.

Release Day! Hip Deep in Bad Company by Ann Charles & Sam Lucky @AnnWCharles

Happy Release Day!

Congrats Ann & Sam
on the release today of
Hip Deep in Bad Company!

Hip Deep in Bad Company by Ann Charles & Sam Lucky
(Deadwood Undertaker #5)
Paranormal, Mystery, 380 pages
Published June 28, 2024 by Ann Charles

I ran freight and wagon trains for years from Missouri to Santa Fe. Courted death from arrows to snake bites, drowning to dysentery, each and every trip. Came through all that only to be dealt a bad hand in Deadwood. Got myself killed.

Now the Grim Reaper is swinging for my boys, too. They’re men, actually, and I won’t let them end up dead like me. Same goes for their friends, Clementine the Amazon and Hank Varney.

First thing, we need to reckon with that smokey Egyptian devil. His no-good henchmen are searching for something underneath the streets of Deadwood. One thing’s for sure—it’s not gold.

Second, the Pinkertons tracked my boys all the way to the Black Hills. I figured they would, but hoped they wouldn’t. My boys will end up in jail yet.

Not so long ago, Deadwood seemed like a good place to set up a freight office, but now the Hills are hip deep in bad company. Sooner or later, the devils around here are going to kill us all. Well, not all, unless you can kill a fella twice.

“I’m a ghost. A specter, some would say. A spirit. A shade, the hallucination of a compromised mind. Whatever moniker you prefer, that’s me. Excepting that last one.” ~ Uncle Morton

Remember Me
by Laura Hendrie
Hardcover ~ January 1999

Readers who enjoy the novels of writers such as Barbara Kingsolver and E. Annie Proulx will love Laura Hendrie, whose prizewinning story collection, Stygo, launched her literary career in 1994. Now, Hendrie has delivered a major novel featuring the wily and tenacious twenty-nine-year-old Rose Devonic, a character as memorable, unorthodox, and engaging as any in recent fiction.

Rose lives in the tiny mountain town of Queduro, New Mexico, where she--like almost all the inhabitants of the town--makes her living by selling embroidery. However, Rose has no home and no family. In winter she sleeps in one of the cold cabins in a mostly abandoned motel, in summer she lives out of her car. A tragedy in her past, which serves as a constant reminder to her neighbors of their complicity, has made her an outcast.

Determined as she is to make a fresh start, Rose's past threatens constantly to engulf her. Only by facing down her ghosts - and her hometown - will she learn how to accept the ultimately liberating challenges of belonging, identity, and love.

Mercy Snow
by Tiffany Baker
Paperback ~ January 2014

In the tiny town of Titan Falls, New Hampshire, the paper mill dictates a quiet, steady rhythm of life. But one day a tragic bus accident sets two families on a course toward destruction, irrevocably altering the lives of everyone in their wake.

June McAllister is the wife of the local mill owner and undisputed first lady in town. But the Snow family, a group of itinerant ne'er-do-wells who live on a decrepit and cursed property, have brought her -- and the town -- nothing but grief.

June will do anything to cover up a dark secret she discovers after the crash, one that threatens to upend her picture-perfect life, even if it means driving the Snow family out of town. But she has never gone up against a force as fierce as the young Mercy Snow. Mercy is determined to protect her rebellious brother, whom the town blames for the accident, despite his innocence. And she has a secret of her own. When an old skeleton is discovered not far from the crash, it beckons Mercy to solve a mystery buried deep within the town's past.

Little Girl Gone
by Drusilla Campbell
Paperback ~ Published January 2012

Madora was seventeen, headed for trouble with drugs and men, when Willis rescued her. Fearful of the world and alienated from family and friends, she ran away with him and for five years they have lived alone, in near isolation. But after Willis kidnaps a pregnant teenager and imprisons her in a trailer behind the house, Madora is torn between her love for him and her sense of right and wrong. When a pit bull puppy named Foo brings into Madora's world another unexpected person--Django Jones, a brilliant but troubled twelve-year-old boy--she's forced to face the truth of what her life has become.

An intensely emotional and provocative story, Little Girl Gone explores the secret hopes and fears that drive good people to do dangerous things . . and the courage it takes to make things right.
