Release Day! A Million Reasons Why by Jessica Strawser ~ My Thoughts #AMillionReasonsWhy #NetGalley #TallPoppy

Congrats Jessica
on the release today of
A Million Reasons Why!

A Million Reasons Why by Jessica Strawser
Women's Psychological Fiction, 352 pages
Published March 23, 2021 by St. Martin’s Press

When two strangers are linked by a mail-in DNA test, it’s an answered prayer―that is, for one half-sister. For the other, it will dismantle everything she knows to be true.

But as they step into the unfamiliar realm of sisterhood, the roles will reverse in ways no one could have foreseen.

Caroline lives a full, happy life―thriving career, three feisty children, enviable marriage, and a close-knit extended family. She couldn’t have scripted it better. Except for one thing:

She’s about to discover her fundamental beliefs about them all are wrong.

Sela lives a life in shades of gray, suffering from irreversible kidney failure. Her marriage crumbled in the wake of her illness. Her beloved mother and lifelong best friend passed away. She refuses to be defined by her grief, but still, she worries about what will happen to her two-year-old son if she doesn’t find a donor match in time.

She’s the only one who knows Caroline is her half-sister. That Caroline may be her best hope for a future. But Sela’s world isn’t as clear-cut as it appears―and one misstep could destroy it all.

After all, would you risk everything to save the life of the person who turned yours upside down?

From the moment Caroline meets Sela, both must reexamine what it really means to be family, the depths of a mother’s love, and the limits and the power of forgiveness.

My thoughts about A Million Reasons Why ~~

So....to be honest, when I started this book and realized the premise—DNA test and newly discovered siblings, with one of them being sick and needing a donor organ—I was pretty sure I knew where this storyline was headed. Been there, read that before. Could this author really take the story down a different path than the one I was expecting?

Well, let me tell you, she most certainly did! There were so many unexpected aspects and details of these peoples' lives that I found this to be a very unique story. I was totally drawn into the drama and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it.

I can highly recommend A Million Reasons Why and am excited that this story is now out in the world. Pick it up, you will not regret it!

I received a copy of A Million Reasons Why from the author via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? March 15, 2021 #IMWAYR

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's an opportunity to visit other blogs and to comment on their reads. And ... you can add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

We had a big storm last night. Schools were cancelled early yesterday before it even started snowing. People have posted anywhere from 8-12 inches out there. Times like this make me totally appreciate being retired (don't have to go out in it) and living in a townhome (someone else shovels the snow). I'm going to put on a big pot of chili for later. Seems like the wintery thing to do, right?

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you all have a good week.
Happy reading!

We have been having some beautiful weather here for a few days. We got the patio table out and we're thinking about getting the grill out too, but we may hold off on that. It's been in the 60s with a high of 70 tomorrow. Yay!! And then..... we plummet back to the 30s and a chance of snow on Wednesday. Ugh!

Oh well, we've been enjoying it while we can and it's not unheard of to have a blizzard in late April or early May, so winter isn't done with us yet. We did take a long walk through the nature park yesterday with our son and 6yo grandson. It was so nice to spend some time with them.

Hubs has surgery scheduled for Wednesday morning. I'll be playing caretaker after that. Hoping everything goes well. Keep him in your thoughts.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you all have a good week.
Happy reading!
