We had a big storm last night. Schools were cancelled early yesterday before it even started snowing. People have posted anywhere from 8-12 inches out there. Times like this make me totally appreciate being retired (don't have to go out in it) and living in a townhome (someone else shovels the snow). I'm going to put on a big pot of chili for later. Seems like the wintery thing to do, right?

We have been having some beautiful weather here for a few days. We got the patio table out and we're thinking about getting the grill out too, but we may hold off on that. It's been in the 60s with a high of 70 tomorrow. Yay!! And then..... we plummet back to the 30s and a chance of snow on Wednesday. Ugh!

Oh well, we've been enjoying it while we can and it's not unheard of to have a blizzard in late April or early May, so winter isn't done with us yet. We did take a long walk through the nature park yesterday with our son and 6yo grandson. It was so nice to spend some time with them. 

Hubs has surgery scheduled for Wednesday morning. I'll be playing caretaker after that. Hoping everything goes well. Keep him in your thoughts.

After what the people of Texas have been going through recently, I've decided to NOT complain about our weather so much. At least up here in the north we are prepared for the extreme cold and lots of snow. I can't even imagine what they're going through. My heart goes out to everyone affected and I hope things are turning around for them. 

We got a surprise visit by our son, DIL, and 6yo grandson on Saturday. They wanted to deliver the Valentine's Day present our grandson made for us. He wrote and illustrated a book for us and gave us a piece of his canvased artwork. BTW, that piece and his other paintings could be worth something someday, he's very talented for a 6yo. Just sayin'. 😉😍

We stood outside on the patio in the cold, with masks on. They didn't want to come in the house because hubs and I are really close to getting our vaccinations (YAY!) and they didn't want to chance giving us the virus. So it was a shorter visit that we would have liked, but it was so great to see them in person! 💖

I'm not sure what's next. I finally got my books out of boxes this past week, after our move. That is such a nice feeling. Now hubby just needs to get the shelves up so I can get them off the floor. My thoughts about Wraith ~~

I absolutely loved The Debt Collector Season One. I am so excited that Season Two is being written as we speak! Wraith is episode 10, the first episode of Season Two. And it appears that this series of stories is going to be just as exciting as the first one!

Wraith is a different kind of debt collecter from Lirium, who we met in season one. She has her own agenda and is out to avenge her father's death. Episode 10 is as intriging and action packed as the episodes of the first season and left me wanting more. I love that I can now go back to this exciting world of the debt collectors.

Wraith is approximately 17,000 words or 68 pages, and is the first of nine episodes in the second season of The Debt Collector serial. This dark and gritty future-noir is about a world where your life-worth is tabulated on the open market and going into debt risks a lot more than your credit rating. 

It is recommended that you start with the first season, but each season is a complete story for that debt collector and can serve as an entry point to the series. There are five planned seasons in the Debt Collector series, the first four each from the perspective of a different debt collector with the fifth season bringing all four together.

About the Author

Susan Kaye Quinn grew up in California, where she wrote snippets of stories and passed them to her friends during class. Her teachers pretended not to notice and only confiscated her stories a couple times.

Susan left writing behind to pursue a bunch of engineering degrees, but she was drawn back to writing by an irresistible urge to share her stories with her niece, her kids, and all the wonderful friends she’s met along the way.

She doesn’t have to sneak her notes anymore, which is too bad.

Susan writes from the Chicago suburbs with her three boys, two cats, and one husband. Which, it turns out, is exactly as a much as she can handle.
