Kindle Edition, 289 pages
Published August 5th 2014 by Deanna Lynn Sletten

Sometimes fate steps in and changes everything...

Andi Stevens drives away from her home town of Seattle and says goodbye to her sister to begin a new life with her fiancé in Buffalo, New York. When her car breaks down in the mountains of Montana, she reluctantly knocks on the door of a cabin for help. What she finds is Luke Brennan, the most handsome man she's ever met, who appears annoyed by her bothering him and is also downright rude. He takes her up to the main ranch house where his mother welcomes her warmly, opening their home to her for as long as she needs to stay. Andi quickly falls in love with the ranch and its occupants, and the beauty of Montana. And no matter how hard they fight it, she and the brooding cowboy form a bond that becomes stronger by the day. Andi soon finds herself struggling with her promise to marry one man and the attraction she feels for another.

Luke Brennan isn't interested in having his heart broken again. He's loved and lost once, and he's hardened his heart against ever falling in love again. But when a beautiful woman with the most tantalizing green eyes shows up at his door one night, he is taken by surprise. As hard as he tries to stay away from Andi, he finds himself drawn to her time and time again. But she's a city girl, and engaged to another man. She's off limits. Yet, he finds his heart slowly giving itself away to this woman. Should he bet against all odds and tell her how he feels before it's too late?

Does fate hold all the cards for the cowboy and the city girl, or will they choose their own destinies?

I love all of Deanna's books and this series is just wonderful. I fell in love with this family and loved each of my visits with them. This is the first book in the Kiss a Cowboy series and once you read it you will be hooked.

Read my thoughts about each of the books in the series.

I has the pleasure of meeting Deanna earlier this past fall. It was a dream come true for me as a blogger and as a reader to finally meet an author that I had come to know 'virtually'. Her books are always a 'must-read' for me!

And here is my bookshelf with my collection of Deanna's books. I think I just about have them all. And don't they look so pretty all there together?

And I've got a Kindle copy of Kiss a Cowboy
for one of you! Enter below.

Kissing Carly (Kiss A Cowboy Series #3) by Deanna Lynn Sletten

Kissing Carly

Kissing Carly by Deanna Lynn Sletten
Series: Kiss A Cowboy #3
Paperback and e-book, 204 pages
Published May 11, 2015 by Deanna Lynn Sletten

She never expected to fall in love…

Carly Stevens loves to have fun but her carefree lifestyle has finally caught up with her. Broke and in debt, she heads to Montana to spend the summer with her sister, Andi Brennan, at the Brennan ranch. Her sister agrees she can stay on two conditions—she works to pay down her debt and changes her wild-girl ways. Reluctantly, Carly agrees, but it isn’t long before she breaks her promise and finds herself in a bind and Randy comes to her rescue. Carly begins to see the ‘crusty old cowboy’ in a different light and soon finds herself falling for the one man she’d never thought it was possible to fall in love with.

Randy Olson’s life has never been easy—growing up with an alcoholic mother and an absent father— but he considers himself lucky to work for the Brennans and to be considered a part of their family. When Carly shows up to stay for the summer, he does his best to ignore the spoiled city girl, as he has done over the past two years when she’s visited. Then, one night, everything changes and he realizes there may be more to Carly than he ever imagined. As their relationship grows, old doubts plague Randy—could a city girl like Carly ever truly love a simple ranch hand?

My thoughts about Kissing Carly ~~

I love that I got to take a trip back the Brennan ranch and was able to see all those people I had come to know and love in the first two books of this series. That place and the people who live there are so comfortable, kind, and warm that I just want to stay there. I love this family so much!

Kissing Carly, book #3 focuses on Carly, the wild one in the other two books. She runs into trouble in the big city and heads to the ranch to regroup and to try to figure out what is important in life. Okay, so we kind of know from the start that she and Randy are going to try to hook up but they both have a lot to work through and get past. Watching that happen is what made me want to keep reading.
'He never paid a bit of attention to her, though, and that irked her. Men fawned over Carly wherever she went. Everyone, except Randy.'
Randy has Carly figured out from the first moment he laid eyes on her. He sees right through her and is the one male who doesn't fall for her games.
'That's the problem right there. You think all you have to do is put on a show, bat your eyelashes, smile prettily, and a hundred men will do your bidding. From the first time I met you, all I saw was you putting on a show for Colt. You'd pout and smile and shake back your hair and he was putty in your hands. You know exactly how to manipulate men by being what you think they want, but the minute a relationship gets serious, you run away. You work so hard convincing a man you're something you aren't, that it scares you when you can't live up to your lies. You know how to reel them in by playacting, but you don't keep them, because you aren't being yourself. Your real self. Sweetie, you did fulfil your childhood wish. You became an actress after all, except that your acting leads to broken hearts.'
Carly and Randy have both had rough lives and those experiences have shaped who they are perceived to be today. But is that facade their real personality? Can they let their guard down and become vulnerable and able to love and be loved?
'Women. They were more trouble than they were worth.'
Like I said, I love this series; the setting, the people, the conflicts, the love. I love it all. I am sad to see it end but I know I can always go back to visit the Brennan Family again, any time I want.

A Kiss for Colt by Deanna Lynn Sletten

A Kiss for Colt

A Kiss for Colt by Deanna Lynn Sletten
Series: Kiss a Cowboy #2
Paperback and e-book, 320 pages
Published: December 9th, 2014

"Colt isn't going to know what hit him," Luke Brennan teased when Colt first met Carly. That was the understatement of the year.

Sometimes a kiss is just a kiss…

Colt Brennan is a sweet, shy cowboy who has spent his life working the family ranch in Montana. He's never given a thought to doing anything different until the vivacious Carly Stevens comes along and steals his heart. Everyone warned him that Carly gets bored with her men easily, but Colt doesn't believe it's true. Once their relationship goes beyond a few stolen kisses, he's sure that Carly is the woman for him. On Carly's invitation, Colt leaves everything behind to move to Seattle and live with her. But sometimes a kiss is just a kiss, and although he wants much more with Carly, he finds her slowly pulling away, leaving him confused.

And then there's Beth. Colt feels an instant connection with Carly's roommate, Beth Owens, and is intrigued by her quiet kindness and inner strength. Beth is the one to bring a smile to his face and warm his heart when all his life plans goes awry. As time goes by, Colt finds himself caught between the woman he thinks he loves, and the woman he feels a deep connection to. Who will be the woman who steals Colt away with just one kiss?

My thoughts about A Kiss for Colt ~~

I loved the first book in this series, Kiss a Cowboy and was super excited to get my hands on A Kiss for Colt! Deanna writes such wonderful stories that are full of great characters who are just so easy to love. A Kiss for Colt took me back to the ranch where I was able to reconnect with these wonderful people again.

Carly travels back to the ranch to spend the holidays with the Brennan family and to attend her sister's wedding to the cowboy she fell in love with.
'You were the one who said, "Kiss a cowboy for me," last summer when I was staying here at the ranch after my car broke down. Well, I took your advice, and I haven't stopped kissing my cowboy ever since.'
Colt and Carly continue the flirtation that they started during Carly's previous visit. Things do heat up between them and Carly ends up inviting Colt to come to Seattle. Colt has to decide if Carly is the woman for him and if he can give up the only home he has ever known, the family ranch. We go through the struggle right along with Colt as he adjusts to his new life. What, and who, will really make him happy?

Deanna is one of my must read authors now and I have loved everything she has written. Her stories are just so easy to get lost in and like I said, the characters become friends. Her books go to the top of my TBR list when they come out! I know the stories are going to be so good!

The third book in this series is Kissing Carly. We get to find out if Carly finds herself a cowboy to kiss. Like I said, I love these characters and I can't wait to see how her life turns out. Kissing Carly will be out in the spring! Whoo hoo!

*****************

This is what it says in Deanna's bio at the end of the book. I love that she believes in all of this and writes her wonderful stories full of these things.
'She believes in fate, destiny, love at first sight, soul mates, second chances, magic, and happily ever after, and these are all reflected in her novels'

My thoughts about Kiss a Cowboy ~~

I just love it when I know I have a new Deanna Lynn Sletten book to read! I absolutely adore her stories! Kiss a Cowboy was a wonderful escape from my hectic, crazy, busy life.

Andi is traveling cross country to start a new life in New York with her fiancĂ©. Then... her car breaks down. Can she trust the nearest stranger to help her out? And that stranger, Luke isn't sure what to make of this 'city girl'.
'He may be good looking, but that didn't mean he wasn't a serial killer.'
As Andi is stuck out in the middle of nowhere, on this ranch, waiting for her car to be fixed, she learns a lot about herself and what she wants and needs out of life. Maybe what she has isn't what she needs, but is just convenient.
'Suddenly, guilt crept over Andi for comparing the two men. It wasn't fair. Derek was a good man who worked hard at this job and was successful, and he wanted to share that success, and his life, with her. She should be proud that such a man loved her, yet here she was, comparing him to Luke. It was apples and oranges. There was no comparison. They were two different types of men living two very different lifestyles.'
I loved how Luke's family embraced Andi and took her in as one of their own when it becomes evident that she is stuck there for awhile. I felt the love and warmth that they extended to her as I read the story. What a wonderful family!

I have to admit, I find myself staying away from books that are classified as 'Romance'. I always think of that genre as the 'bodice-ripper' type of book. I know, I know, this genre has so much more to it than that. But Deanna wrote this story and since I love all of her stories, I was not going to miss out on one of her books, romance or not.

Kiss a Cowboy has so much more to it than what I would expect to find in what I think of as a typical romance novel. Typical romance = lots of tension and angst among the main characters, so much that is almost hurts to read it and be a part of it. In Kiss a Cowboy, the reader witnesses the main character's friendship and love develop and grow, even though there are some rough spots along the way. Those rough spots are just things that the character have to work through. I guess I need to open up my mind to this wonderful, fun genre called 'Romance'.

As a side note: it seems like there are always facts in Deanna's stories that I can connect with. For example, in Kiss a Cowboy, the main character, Andi, leaves Seattle. My hubby and I are embarking on an Alaskan cruise in September, leaving from -- you guessed it, Seattle. She is driving a 2001 Ford Escape. My son drives a 2001 Ford Escape, which we helped pay for. And Andi considers stopping in Superior for the night but decides to travel on to Missoula. I grew up in Superior, granted in a different state but still... Making these connections so early in the story really makes me feel like I have a bond with the characters and the author.

Kiss a Cowboy is book #1 in the Kiss a Cowboy Series. Yay!! There is more to come from Deanna about these wonderful characters whom I came to know and love. And there are some great side characters that will be showing up again in the upcoming books of the series so we will get to know them even better. I can't wait for book #2 and I can't wait to go back to this world again.

'Enjoy the ranch, and be sure to kiss a cowboy for me.'

Now, be sure to head on down the page to enter the giveaway for a $25 Amazon gift card from Deanna.
