My thoughts about The Trail of Lost Hearts ~~

(I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first line.)

First lines—"It rains a lot in the Pacific Northwest. It's not like I didn't know this before my plane touched down in Oregon and I walked out of the airport into a steady drizzle."

I've read several of Tracey's books in the past and have enjoyed them all. The Trail of Lost Hearts is a 'not looking for love' kind of love story. As I watched the friendship/not friendship develop between Wren and Marshall, I was hoping they would connect but neither of them were interested. They were each just trying to deal with the trauma of their own lives. But maybe, just maybe, they were just what the other one was looking for. 

The Trail of Lost Hearts captured my heart and emotions from the very start and the characters become people I came to care about. Tracey did a great job with character development and the beautiful settings of the couple's adventure made me want to try geocaching. Well, maybe just a little.

I totally loved The Trail of Lost Hearts and I will remember Wren and Marshall for quite some time. Highly recommend.

First lines—"Layla Hilding smiled at the man standing next to her. He gave her a thumbs-up and she flashed the peace  sign back at him."

I have never been disappointed in a story by Tracey Garvis Graves so I was excited to be able to read a copy of Heard It in a Love Song. This one did not disappoint either. Such an enjoyable relationship/love story. 

I immediately liked both Layla and Josh and enjoyed watching their friendship develop, just two people who are both trying to get past their current relationships. I loved the phrase the author used to describe them—'friends with potential'. They are there for each other as friends and if it develops into more, that's great but if not, that's okay too. 

Through a series of flashbacks, we learn the backstory of those failed relationships and come to understand why they are each hesitant to move forward. It was kind of soothing watching the two of them come to rely on each other to heal. 

Heard It in a Love Song is a wonderful story that will touch the hearts of all of us who love sweet stories of friendships that have the potential to grow into something more. You never know when that second chance at love will show up. And who doesn't deserve a second chance? 

I received Heard It in a Love Song from NetGalley and Goodreads. This is my honest opinion of the book.

I just love books with a quirky character or two. The Girl He Used to Know has the wonderful Annika, a woman with plenty of quirks. As she struggles living her life, she encounters a couple of people who 'get' her—they really 'get' her. And as they slowly and lovingly bring her out of her anxiety-filled life, she finds strength that she never knew she possessed.

This story, and Annika, captured my heart from the very first page. I turned the pages quickly–but not too quickly so that I could savor it all–and watched her life unfold before me, starting to understand what her life must have been like. When she feels that she has lost the person she loves the most, she faces her fears and forges ahead.

The Girl He Used to Know is a beautiful story of love, differences, and acceptance. It is a story that I thoroughly enjoyed reading and one that I highly recommend. I will remember Annika, and her quirkiness for quite some time.
