The Muffin Shop Murder: A Delilah Crumbworthy Mystery by Holly Tierney
Cozy Mystery, Women Sleuth, 360 pages
Published January 2, 2023 by Kindle Scribe
The McArdles have the best bakery in town, until rumors begin swirling about the corners they're cutting to save on costs. When a tragic accident takes place at their bakery, there's no recovering and they're put out of business.
Snowflake Valley, Idaho NEEDED a great bakery after tragedy eliminated theirs. Delilah Crumbworthy was just the person to bring some sweetness to town. Sure, she's a bit of a hippie and some people have even accused her of being flakier than a puff pastry, but she's got a good heart, a good attitude, and sense enough to solve whatever problems, mysteries, or murders come her way!
Delilah Crumbworthy steps in to take over the quaint old bakeshop on Main Street. From her first day on the job, she finds herself swamped with customers, new friends, and menacing happenings. Does she have what it takes to run a business, make friends, keep up with the beautiful people of Snowflake Valley, and solve a mystery or two?
This is book one in the new Delilah Crumbworthy Mystery Series.

My thoughts about The Muffin Shop Murder ~~
(I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first line.)
First line—"Delilah Crumbworthy set the cardboard moving box of kitchen utensils on the front counter of the bakery, dusted off her hands, and spun around in her floor-length flowered sundress."
This is the first book in a new series that I know is going to be hit. There is a full cast of interesting characters set in beautiful Snowflake Valley, Idaho, a place that has shown up in another one of this author's books.
Delilah is opening a new bakery in town and quickly discovers the place isn't quite the nice, quaint community she thought it was. There are plenty of quirky residents, people I'm excited to learn more about, and plenty of past drama, including a possible murder, or was it just an accident? Intriguing.
The Muffin Shop Murder was a very entertaining, very enjoyable read and I'm excited for the next episode in the lives of Delilah and the rest of the Snowflake Valley townspeople. I can't wait to see where Holly and these characters take me. I know it's going to be a fun ride!
I received a copy of The Muffin Shop Murder from the author and this is my honest opinion.
