Beneath the Carolina Sun by Ashley Farley
Southern Fiction, Sister Fiction, 160 pages
Published October 22, 2024 by AHF Publishing

At Magnolia Shores, the stakes are high, and secrets hold the power to transform lives.

Kate has spent the past few weeks in the Lowcountry, caring for her mother after a stroke. Although she should have returned home by now, the allure of Magnolia Shores keeps her rooted in place. At a crossroads in her life, Kate rediscovers the carefree spirit of her youth. She faces a tough return to a failing marriage in Texas or pursue a golden career opportunity in South Carolina looms large.

Grace holds the key to her mother’s future, and the weight of her confession could irrevocably alter their lives. How much is she willing to risk for the fairytale wedding of her dreams?

Meanwhile, Shelby settles into her role as reservations manager at Magnolia Shores, finding solace and purpose amidst the tranquil surroundings. However, her newfound contentment is shattered by the unexpected arrival of her sister, reopening old wounds. Being left out of Grace’s wedding party still stings. Can the sisters reconcile their differences and forge a path forward together?"

My thoughts about Beneath the Carolina Sun ~~

(I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first lines.)

First lines—"Peace settled over Magnolia Shores as Kate waved goodbye to the last guest at the end of the Fourth of July weekend."

I love this series and these characters so much! When I sat down to read Beneath the Carolina Sun, I got lost in their world and didn't emerge until I got to the cliffhanger end. And that ending? Of course, we have to have more!!

As the reader, I was taken back to the beautiful island and Magnolia Shores and dropped into the somewhat hectic and drama filled world of the island's inhabitants. All of my favorite people were there and I loved catching up with all of them and seeing where their lives and their decisions were going to take them. As with all of Ashley's stories, this place starts to feel like home and the characters become my family and friends.

Beneath the Carolina Sun was such a satisfying read and I am so excited for more of this fabulous series. Book number three, Southern Simmer will be coming out in January and I can't wait! I highly recommend this whole series.

I received a copy of Beneath the Carolina Sun from the author and this is my honest opinion.

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? October 7, 2024 #IMWAYR

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It's an opportunity to visit other blogs and to comment on their reads. And ... you can add to that ever growing TBR pile! So welcome everyone. This meme started with J Kaye's Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

Well, my trip to Tennessee is still on. I fly into Asheville, which is now possible at this point. The issue we will have is traffic leaving the city. Since most of the highways and bridges are still out, access in and out is limited. I am sure it will take us longer than it normally would, but I am so excited to see all my family!

Where my son lives is doing okay. They finally have water after a week. I am so proud of my son and his family for all of the volunteer work they have been involved with, helping those still in so much need. My DIL has such a compassionate heart and I know hers is breaking hearing the stories of what others are going through. Keep that area in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you all have a good week.
Happy reading!

I hope everyone who's reading this and was affected by Hurricane Helene is safe. My son and his family live in eastern Tennessee where all the flooding happened. They personally are safe and at this point only have an issue with getting safe drinking water. I'm supposed to be going down to visit them in about two weeks, flying into Asheville, NC. Don't think that is going to happen now. I'll have to check to see what my options are. Stay safe everyone.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you all have a good week.
