Finding Libbie
Finding Libbie by Deanna Lynn Sletten
Paperback and e-book, 344 pages
Published: September 6th 2016 by Lake Union Publishing
Poring over a dusty hatbox of photographs in her grandmother’s closet, Emily Prentice is shocked to discover her father was married to his high school sweetheart before meeting her mother.
In the summer of 1968, Jack and Libbie fall in love under the spell of their small town, untouched by the chaos of the late sixties. Though Libbie’s well-to-do parents disapprove of Jack’s humble family and his aspiration to become a mechanic, she marries Jack a year after they graduate high school. But soon their happiness crumbles as Libbie’s mental state unravels and she is drawn to alcohol and drugs. Despite his efforts to help her, Jack loses the woman he loves and is forced to move on with his life.
Now that Emily’s mother has passed away, Jack is alone again, and Emily grows obsessed with the beautiful woman who had given her father such joy. Determined to find Libbie, Emily pieces together the couple’s fragmented past. But is it too late for happy endings?

I am so excited to offer this Kindle e-book to one of you! Finding Libbie is one of my all-time favorite stories and Deanna is one of my all-time favorite authors. Finding Libbie will make you feel all the feels. I've read it several times and it gets me every time. You can read my thoughts here.
And..... Deanna has two new books coming out soon! I'm so excited!! The Women of Great Heron Lake comes out September 10th and Chasing Bailey: A Lake Harriet Novel on October 8th. I drop everything when she publishes a new book. This girl is happy, happy!!
On a side note, my daughter and I were able to spend a few days in June with Deanna and her daughter in Deadwood for Wild Deadwood Reads. It was so much fun!
And..... we won one of the raffle baskets and I got my picture taken with the cover model who was there for the event. Yes, I'm short but in my defense, some what, he's really tall. 😉
