Is it more important to have roots, or wings?
Garrett Oliver has just settled into his job as heir apparent to one of the most renowned master gardeners in the country. After a difficult few years, he’s found a home and a renewed purpose at a famed resort in the secluded Smoky Mountains. The stars seem to be aligning for Garrett as he plans a future with his college sweetheart and envisions a simple life with her in the mountains of East Tennessee.
Willow Armstrong, fresh off a painful breakup, is coming home to Knoxville to care for her ailing father. She finds herself in the right place at the right time, landing a dream job alongside Garrett—as his boss. As they are thrown together by their work, an undeniable magnetism grows between them, despite the fact that Garrett is ready to start a future with someone else.
Circumstances persist in drawing them closer, and an unexpected opportunity in Colorado prompts Willow and Garrett to wonder if a life together out west might be beyond anything either of them had dared to imagine.
(I love to note the first lines of the books I'm reading. First lines can really grab a reader's attention and I love seeing where the author takes the reader after their first lines.)
First line—"Garrett Oliver had a knack for being in the right place at the right time. Or the wrong time, if you asked his new boss, Finn Janssen."
Andrea Thome is a new to me author and when I was asked to read Seeds of Intention, I was intrigued by the synopsis. And I was not disappointed.
I loved the ease that I felt as I started this book and as I got to know Garrett and Willow. The story is filled with great characters, people who are good and kind and who take Willow in like she is one of their own. And to have it set in the beautiful Smoky Mountains was an extra bonus.
The relationships throughout the book were inspiring. I loved the way everyone was there and supported each other. It was such a delight to read. You could just feel the love, respect, and admiration they had for one another—what a great group of friends.
Seeds of Intention is book #2 is the Hesse Creek series but I never felt like I was missing anything by not reading book #1, Walland. If anything, the glimpse that I got in this book about the main characters from the first book made me want to read their story too. And I am really hoping there are more books to come!
I received a copy of Seeds of Intention from JKS Communications in exchange for my honest opinion.
