Annajane Hudgens truly believes she is over her ex-husband, Mason Bayless. They’ve been divorced for four years, she’s engaged to a new, terrific guy, and she’s ready to leave the small town where she and Mason had so much history. She is so over Mason that she has absolutely no problem attending his wedding to the beautiful, intelligent, delightful Celia. But when fate intervenes and the wedding is called to a halt as the bride is literally walking down the aisle, Annajane begins to realize that maybe she’s been given a second chance.
Maybe everything happens for a reason. And maybe, just maybe, she wants Mason back. But there are secrets afoot in this small southern town. On the peaceful surface of Hideaway Lake, Annajane discovers that the past is never really gone. Even if there are people determined to keep Annajane from getting what she wants, happiness might be hers for the taking, and the life she once had with Mason in this sleepy lake town might be in her future. ~~ synopsis from Goodreads
My thoughts about Spring Fever ~~
I read Ms. Andrews novel, Summer Rental last year and was so excited to get the chance to read her current novel Spring Fever. Watch for it ~ it will go on sale June 5, 2012.
Once again, I was transported to the world that the author created and was totally swept up in the character's lives. Spring Fever is a book that I did not want to put down ~ I love it when books do that to me!
Annajane wants to do the right thing, the grown-up thing, and attends the wedding of her ex but she realizes that she still has feeling for him. She does all that she can to stay away from him and his family but is drawn into their lives by a sweet little girl that she has come to love.
There are a lot of obstacles in the way and will the couple get back together? Or maybe they will just find happiness being apart? And I love the secrets! Didn't see those coming!
I loved most of the characters, but Celia is one woman that I loved to hate, what a selfish woman! I would have to say that Pokey, Mason's sister and Annajane's best friend, was probably my favorite character in the story. She had spunk and just told it like it was. I would love to have a best friend like her!

Ms. Andrews does develop great characters that stir strong emotions for the reader, both good and bad. I loved Spring Fever and will be anxiously awaiting other books by Ms. Andrews.
Spring Fever will be released on June 5th.
Her previous novel, Summer Rental will be out in paperback on May 8th.
Ms. Andrews has a B.A. in newspaper journalism from The University of Georgia. She is a former reporter for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. While a reporter in Savannah, GA, she covered the real-life murder trials which were the basis of the book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. She also publishes under the name Kathy Hogan Trocheck.
Summer Rental has everything I love about summer reading - the beach, hot guys, romance. Being from Florida, and visiting Savannah at least once each summer, I enjoy the Southern scenery. I can relate to it. I get a kick out of Mary Kay's references to real places in Savannah. I also like the fact that Mary Kay's love scenes are steamy, but not explicit. I can read them in public without blushing, without feeling like I have to hide the cover. I don't worry about my teenage daughter picking up the book after me. And, besides, her characters practice safe sex.
